    Hello bediacross24

We'll need a bit more information, please. Then we'll be more than happy to help you.

    (01) What equipment is involved/do you have at this point?

    (02) Have you already subscribed to an ISP providing Satellite Broadband service?

    (03) If so, did they provide you w/ a device for connecting your computer to their service?

    (04) If so, could you, please, provide us w/ the Make and Model No. of that device (look for a sticker on the bottom or back).

    (05) Do you need to connect only one computer/Internet device or do you wish to share the Internet connection w/ other "nodes" (Internet devices and/or computers) on your LAN?

    (05) If you've already subscribed to Satellite Broadband access, who is your ISP?

    Thank you,
    BJ

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Broadband connection problems

Hi, to fix the problem, here are instructions to get the right Broadband Internet connection. From the "Start" menu, select to open the Control Panel. Next click on the Network and Internet category, select the Network and Sharing Center. In the Tasks ( left, column), select to open the ("Connect to Network"), "Setup a connection or network." In the next window there will be a choice of "Options" to have the connection setup; select the type of connection (Broadband) and use the "Wizard, by click "Next." Follow all instructions afterward, and "restart" the computer. "Rating the solution is appreciated, if it helped?" Thanks!

Hi Brenda,

Your All In One wants a phone line hooked directly to it. It won't fax without a "POTS" line directly hooked to it. POTS stands for "Plain Old Telephone Service" which is the line with good old dial tone on it.

Hi i have a satellite internet provider and im trying to set up my linksys broadband router so i can hook up my xbox 360 my problem is everytime i hook it up im getting no internet connection can you tell...

hi,
there are two things to be addressed in this case.firstly you have a satellite internet provider which can create consistency issue.then when you connect a xbox to router you need to do a port forwading on linksys router(port forwarding=opening ports in router so your xbox can communicate freely).in order to do the port forwarding you have to log onto router user interface.then go to applications and gaming tab, where you can do the port forwarding.
but before doing so,you have to contact microsoft to know the ip address assigned to the xbox and the ports(numbers) to be opened.
thank you.

Setting up router

The Alltel must hook to a wireless source. Your D-link could be that source, but then it needs to be hooked to a source. If you have a wire coming to your house you should hook this to the Wan port on the D-link. Then your computer will hook to the d-link. It then should be setup with codes for security.

Have I confused you yet? In answer directly to your question, yes your Alltel will work with your D-link. But your D-link will then be your wireless source.

Where are you getting your signal from now?

I have a computer hooked up to bell sympatico. How do I connect my new compaq to it? Thanks

If you have only a DSL or Cable modem, that doesn't have an integrated Router, then you'll need to get a router to use more than one computer. The broadband modem, will connect to the uplink port of the router, and give you usually 4 wired ports and up to 50 wireless connections.

Here is an example from linksys
