I need to Have a timer created in excel

Well, I work in a call center and we take call, we have to finish the calls at a specified time. Each calls could vary from 6 sec (Answering machine calls) to long calls. I need a timer to be created so that every time a call comes in and when the agent clicks on a start button the present time is displayed and when the call stops and the agent clicks on the stop button the present time is displayed on the excel sheet.

Create a button tied to a now function for each time, displayed based on your choices (probably in a second sheet, if you don't want the operator to see it).

Then, if you want this information stored for future reference, it will take writing/recording a macro to write the data to a line, move down one line, and record at the next time the button(s) are clicked. The reason I say button(s) is that you could have the macro record both times based on hitting the end button, or you could have a beginning record when button #1 is hit, and then a second macro moves to a second cell when button #2 is hit and both record the time (now). Then you have a third cell which calculates the time involved by subtracting beginning time from end time.

If you need further assistance, please post back. Otherwise, thanks for rating FixYa!

Wanted to add one more comment - NOW will reset to current each time it is used, so I would recomment that in your macro, you copy the cell to another and paste as a value. This way, yiur calculation is based on the original data and does not change and always become -0-. Thanks again!

I have the timer set, all 7 cycles to come on at 6am go off at 6pm. set and checked. put mode on auto but light did not come on. it only came on when set on the on mode. please help, thank you

You are having problem programming zilla digital power strip timer.

Either timer is defective, or programming has conflicts that cause timer to ignore programming, or blue-yellow outlets are not understood, or combination of these problems.

Zilla yellow outlets are for daytime hours.
Blue outlets for nighttime.
The instruction manual does NOT specify what hours are for daytime. 6 am to 6 pm? Or 12 am to 12pm?
The zilla analog timer divides day and night at 12 and 12.

If digital timer is also 12 and 12, then you cannot set ON at 5:59am and OFF at 5:59pm without fudging the current time setting. For example offset current time by exactly 6 hours.

1) Electronic devices don't work as expected and have short lifespan when circuit is not clean.
Buy cheap circuit analyzer at home center and test outlet on same circuit breaker.
Contact local electrician to fix any problem.

2) Intermatic has excellent customer service:

3) I test timers. 4-6% arrive defective. Return timer for exchange.

With the power center, do the yellow (daytime circuits only work from 12am to 11:59pm, even if the program setting is from say 7 am to 3pm?? and when you set the "time cycles" which number corresponds to...

Yellow outlets are controlled for 12 hours (approx).
Your schedule is 8 hours.
To solve problem: The timer does not know what time it is until you set current time. So set current time so your 8 hour schedule falls within the 'daytime' hours.

Increment a number per record in Microsoft Excel

For what you are talking about doing, Microsoft Access would probably be a better option. With Microsoft Access, you can create a custom form and have it automatically give a number.

I just finished with Trend Micro help support and they solved this problem for me. Open the main console for Trend Micro. Click on Viruses & Spyware Controls. Click on the "settings" for Protection Against Viruses & Spyware. Click on Advanced Settings. Under the section for "What Should TMIS Check for Threats" click on the circle for "Specify Targets that you choose". Click on "Select" next to "Ignore Specific Files & Folders". Then Add and folders of files that you do not want Trend Micro to check and make backups for. That solved my issue...hope it helps you too.

Your issue is not stated very clearly so I'll make some guesses about your problem.
I'm guessing you mean "rate" (Starts-per-Week) is the number of starts you have that week.
I'll guess that those starts are not new start dates but something else-maybe job starts.
Each start implies a job duration period. Do you want to know the finish date of each job or are you only interested in when the last job will be completed? Don't think I can give you meaningful Excel formulas at this time.
Maybe Excel is the best tool for this job but I suspect someting like Microsoft Project would be more appropriate (but expensive). You should Google "project tracking", "project orgainization" and "Gant chart" and read what you find to get a good feel for your problem and how to solve it.
