Question about Xerox WorkCentre M-24 Color Copier

Reset WorkCentre 24, Xerox


I have inherited a Xerox WorkCentre 24 as one of the machines on the network... person before me set different admin code for getting into machine, default is 11111... Xerox wants $332 to send a tech to reset code!!!

Anyone know what buttons to push to reset WorkCentre 24 back to factory default?

    There does not seem to be a service tab... you are talking about at the machine in the touch pad window...

    Sorry but the information for this Xerox that you mention do not seem to be here... there are 3 buttons that get you 3 sets of screens and " Information" button, then "troubleshooting" then the "Service Tools" menu do not appear under any of them...

    This is a Xerox WorkCentre 24 that does copying and printing from the network...

    The info below are what the 3 buttons get me to...

    Allows you to alternate between scanning and copying feature


    Job Status
    Allows you to check or cancel jobs currently executing, or to

    check or print saved documents.

    Machine Status
    Allows you to check the machine status, meters, the state of

    consumables, and output reports.

    cannot get into my used WC M-24, i have an admin code that i need to reset. the default was 1111 and i tried that.

    also unit is saying that "some features are disabled, contact an admin... at boot. i can network scan, but no copying or printing. checked to make sure all parts are seated several times.

    ONLY occured AFTER i tired to hook it into my network.

    Any Help would be greatly appricated.

In menus you browse to the service tab, then serivice diagnostics. Go to NVRAM reset and perform the NVM reset.
Before you do that, print out a configuration page if you want to rememebr the network settings. It will set the IP address back to default also.

    Press the " Information" button, then "troubleshooting" then the "Service Tools" menu.

    With the cursor at the top of the "service Tools" menu, press both the up and down arrow buttons and that will display the service menu.

    Scroll to the NVRAM reset.

    That will reset the machine back to factory settings.
    I was thinking the 2424 had the menu right in the machine status. Sorry.
    Please rerate. This is the procedure for doing a reset.

    Good Lord, I am so sorry, I zoned out on the model totally.

    I have sent you the correct procedure for the Workcenter 24 via E-mail. That process will do exactly what you are asking.

    My mind got stuck on the 2424 and just kept picturing the procedure for a 2424. So sorry.

Call Xerox to have it corrected. You may need to have the main pwb checked or replaced anyway.
Not a simple solution as it sounds.

Can Xerox DocuColor 3535 toner ink be used in Xerox WorkCentre 7228?

From experience, I wouldn't do it...
The different series usually have slightly different toner composition, so you may find that your copier will be majorly over-toned or under-toned. by doing that.
I personally wouldn't risk it, and I have been in the industry 24 years...

How do a forgotten admin password on a xerox 7655

WorkCentre 7655 7665 7675 Online Support Solution Modify the Printer...
Solution : Modify the Printer's Administrator Password Using CentreWare Internet Services (CWIS) NOTE: This solution assumes the WorkCentre is configured and working properly on the network.
  1. From the computer, open an Internet browser window.
  2. Enter the IP address for the WorkCentre in theAddressfield, and then press [Enter] on the keyboard. The CentreWare Internet Services window will be displayed.
  3. Click on the [Properties] tab.

    NOTE:If the Login screen is displayed, enter the user name in theUser IDfield, and the password in thePasswordfield, and then click on the [Login] button.

    The default username is "admin" (case sensitive), and the default password is "1111". If it has been changed or forgotten, contact Support.
  4. Click on [Security] to expand the list of options.
  5. Select [Authentication Configuration].
  6. Click on the [Modify] button for Device System Administrator Password.
  7. Enter a new password in theNew Passwordfield.
  8. Retype the password in theRetype Passwordfield.
  9. Click on [Save]. This will be the new password to log into the Control Panel and CWIS.,E=0000000004704152929,K=9646,Sxi=4,Case=obj(3814)

Solution : Modify the Default Admin (Tools Mode) Password on the WorkCentre NOTE:The Admin (Tools Mode) password allows access to configure network and machine settings on the printer.Xerox recommends only changing the default Admin (Tools Mode) password if absolutely necessary. If the password has been changed from the default password (1111) and has been forgotten, a service call is required to reset the password.
To change the default Admin (Tools Mode) password:
  1. Press the [Log In / Out] button on the Control Panel. The Log In window will be displayed. See theRelated Itemsbelow for additional information regarding logging into the WorkCentre.
  2. Select [Security Settings] on the left side of the screen.
  3. Select [Authentication] from theGroupscolumn and then select [User / Administrator Accounts] from theFeaturescolumn. The User Administrator screen will be displayed.
  4. Select the [Account #] field, and then select account number 1 using the keypad on the Control Panel.
  5. Select the [Configure Account] button. The Configure User Accounts screen will be displayed.
  6. Press the [Clear C] button (several times, as required) on the Control Panel to clear the old password.
  7. Enter the new password using the keypad on the Control Panel.
  8. If necessary, place a check mark in the [System Administrator (Admin)] and [Account Administrator] check boxes, and then select [Save Account].

I am having workcentre 24, CMYK colours tone are not printing properly mainly cyan and majenta


I get this code 010-398 on the xerox m-24.
I have already replaced the inks.
Is it possible to reset the machine online for me?

The closest that you can get to a full factory reset is by doing the following
First: Press the [Machine Status] key
Second: Using the Navigation Keys select [System Admin Tools] and press [Enter]
If the System Admin Tools have already been passcode protected, type in the password and press [Enter]
Third:Select [Clear Memory] using the Navigation Keys and press [Enter]
Click System Data and press [Enter]
You May want to click on each of the given options to make sure everything is gone.

What is the default password for the Xerox workcentre 24?

It looks like the username and password are both 'admin', and if that doesn't work it might be '11111'.

You it is necessary to return the code of the manager, or apply to service centre, such information to you nobody will not give and no such code, which you have found in internet. This problem to me known. This only service centre, they do not divulge such information

Press machine log in button, enter 11111 confirm, this will take you to sys admin mode, from here you can navigate into sys settings to configure network,copy and fax defaults, and also auditron admin if this is the password mentioned, if the 11111 password has been changed hold the zero button for a few seconds then press start while still holding zero enter 6789 to get into diagnostics, and you can navigate through to the above settings caution be careful what you change in this mode.

Adding xerox workcentre 24 driver to new computer

If you press the machine status button.
Print reports
Common Settings. It will include the printer settings.
IP address, printer name etc. I think that information is on page 3.
But you can print those settings easily.
If you need to change them.
Log into the machine with the login or access button, the either 1111 or 11111, will access the tools you need to set up the network.
Make sure you set the IP for manual, not auto, and also turn OFF the IP filter.
If the printer is set to DCHP and auto, it will change the IP on you every time you POPO.
