If it's the lamp indicator, yellow means lamp near end of life, red means failed lamp. Status light (red) means major failure, yellow means filter cover loose. Parts can be found on ebay or internet.

I have a 2001 ford expedition i keep failing inspection cause of two things. First is the catalyst. the second is the evaporative system. how do i fix these things myself

Hi,

Both these systems are monitored by your vehicle's OBDII computer.

Firstly, you need to have your diagnostic codes read from your OBD computer - your local Ford dealership would take about 15mins to do this while you wait.

Once you have identified the circuit/component causing these conditions, you can then look at suitable repair.

The EVAP system controls excess fuel vapor, so there could be a vapor leak somewhere.

The Catalytic converter is a very expensive item (its the bulging part at the front of your exhaust) - if faulty, it will have to be replaced.

Have your codes checked first, before you start replacing any unneccessary items.

Cheers,

Drivelock hdd bay password

Hi Mandevilleti,

I know how you feel as my HP pavilion has had the same blue screen ansking for the 'drivelock multibay password' . the good news is i have fixed it just 5 mins ago.

I think that you have to get into the bios first. Lets see if I can show you how I helped it to boot up:
  1. at the blue screen I pressed the F10 Key which took me into setup
  2. i then selected the security tab
  3. and then I think I selected drivelock password
  4. and then selected the "Notebook hard drive" item where I tried to disable, with no success

PLEASE NOTE: at this point I noticed that each time that i tried to disable the password it kept returning to the item 'Notebook hard drive' . I thought to myself that maybe this is the password and not just an item on the list, so I carefully wrote down .. Notebook hard drive .. taking note of capitalization and spaces and then exited setup.
  5. I then noticed that there was nowhere to enter the password so i carefully typed .. Notebook hard drive .. onto the keyboard, and waited. After about 1 min a small 'OK' appeared inside the blue box and my heart leaped for joy inside my chest.
  6. I waited... and a black screen apeared with the wite cursor blinking
  7. and I waited... this time about 5 mins passed and then windows started to load. Thank God!
I hope you get some joy out of this post and it's not too late for your notebook.

kind regards

Shaking when it warms up,back and forth when i change gears..

it could be any of the item you have listed above. you just have to check and replace each item till you get to the problem.
first go to a repair shop and have them get eh computer code from the car, and tell you what you need to check or replace.
leave the injector for last. start replacing the plugs first. wires, check the timing, then go from there.

Akai LCT2785TA Won't Turn On

It's worth a shot.First I would open the back of the TV,and look at the can shaped items on the boards. If any of them have the tops,or bottoms bulged out, they need to be replaced. Then you can get the stuff you need to replace the bad capacitors. This should get it working again. If it is anything else, you will have to buy some equipment like a multimeter to test the components, and find which ones are bad.As far as what you need,it all depends on how much you want to get into this, and,or other electronics. You would need a soldering iron, solder, solder braid, and a desoldering bulb/plunger to get started.I hope this helps. If you have any questions, please let me know.Thank You very much!
