Question about PfaFF Creative 7570

1 Answer

Hello, I have bought a PFAFF 213 sewing machine with a jammed shaft. I have oiled the machine, but the needle won't move up and down. The machine is very clean inside, indicating that it has been used only a little. I'd love the satisfaction of fixing it myself - albeit, with a bit of help. Cheers - Cathy

I am desperate! I have a Pfaff 1167 that the hand wheel is seized. I can wind the bobbin, but when hand wheel does not turn once the machine is engaged. The machine was my grandmother's, but it is nearly new and has not been used for a couple of years. It is in a cabinet, so I am not even sure how to get it out to take to a repair shop. I would rather try to fix it at home, but really need some help! Any help is graciously appreciated!!

    Kind regards,

    Debbykay

Hello,
I did fix the jammed shaft - simply by applying some tenacious oil and letting it sit overnight. It is now a fully-functioning machine!

Thanks for your ear and your interest,
Cathy

I have a Pfaff 260 that was totally frozen when I bought it at a thrift store. The old oil had turned to glue and seized the moving parts. I followed the process described below and my Pfaff 260 now has a prominent working place in my sewing room.

Hi I have a pfaff industrial zig zag 428, the bobbin has stopped all rotation

bobbin case should be stationary, bobbin itself is rotated as thread unwound, check hook timing. Simply turn hand wheel towards you and watch needle go down, when it reaches lowest point turn it slowly until needle rises 3/16" or so. Hook should be behind needle and slightly above eye.

My pfaff 1222e isn't working the motor runs but the needle doesn't move ~ the knob at the end of the machine won't turn at all

Check for thread jams... hopefully that's the problem and not a bent shaft in the thing.

Pfaff 2024 bobbin case basket is jammed-even after clean & oil

the jam that happened may have caused the machine to jump time & it would have to be serviced

Pfaff select 1540 bobbin thread jam

if there is a thread in the hook area try taking a pair of needle nose
pliers to try & get the thread out, if that doesn't work then you might
think about taking the machine to a sewing machine shop to have the
machine checked since the needle will not go up & down & handwheel
won't move

I've just bought a Pfaff 1471 and it has "locked-up"... the needle won't go up and down and the hand-wheel won't move. Help please! :)

Do you have a bunch of material and thread stuck in the feed dog? Sounds like. This will sometimes happen. I'm afraid the only thing you can do is carefully work with a seam ripper or small scissors to get it all out. Be careful working. You will damage this part of your fabric, but you can take the seam allowance in a small bit. You will probably have to remove fabric & thread from underneath, through the bobbin area, too.

Once you have all of this cleared, the needle and wheel will turn. I suggest you try and take the needle out of the shaft and try pulling it out of the fabric before you start your work, too. That way, you won't risk breaking it and have a piece fly off at you.

It's frustrating and will probably make you curse at the machine-it's happened to everyone who sews at one time or another, and will happen again, I'm afraid.

My machine jammed up with some thread under the fabric but nothing by the bobbin. but the needle won't move it just hums when I try try to sew.

If you can't turn the handwheel, then there is thread jamed up in the hook. You can try to rock the handwheel back and forth to try to get the thread out. If you do get it free, try to sew with it. If it won't sew properly you might have a damaged position finger or it's out of time. You'll need to take it to a PFAFF dealer.

My Pfaff 1211 was working and all of a sudden it

Your hook where your bobbin case goes in are most likele jammed with cotton. give it some oil and turn your handwheel backwards gently. Look if you see any cotton jammed and remove it

My pfaff 1215 won't disengage when filling the bobbin. the needle still goes up and down

The problem is lack of oil underneath the balance wheel on the shaft, if you do not have an oil hole you would be advised to take it in for a service because the balance wheel needs to be pulled out slightly to oil it.
