Question about Sharp AL-1540CS All-In-One Laser Printer
L1 means the lamp is not moving from the home position.
Normally its just hitting the sensor bracket and being stalled.
You could have a broken scan cable. Or motor bad.
Open the document feeder and turn the machine on, see if the lamp tries to move, If it does the motor and cables are fine just hitting someting and not actuating the home sensor.
If it doesnt move, suspect the motor first, cable or pully problem then the main board.
If its not moving, I would try unplugging the machine, remove the glass and see if you can freely move the lamp carriage.
