Question about Printers & Copiers
Hi. My church just had a Canon PC6-RE copier donated. As I am a copier tech (for a Canon competitor, in the interest of full disclosure) they asked me to look at it. I gave it a quick look this evening, and the copies have some dark background and bleed-through from two-sided originals. I intend to clean the optics to start, but I know that in similar models made by my company in that time period, adjusting the exposure helps that type of problem. In these older models, it is usually a case of either a coarse adjustment using a trimpot or a fine adjustment using internal diagnostics. The copier appears in fairly decent shape. There was a little toner on an orange plastic strip that runs along the transfer corona assembly but otherwise it's pretty clean inside. We have a new cartridge available.
I have looked in vain for a manual or other information on the Canon website and other places. Any possibility that you might have the information or some tips on improving copy quality? Barring that, any source for a service manual would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Why certainly, you can either call me and I will walk you through it. the canon pc 6 is a great machine except if you have to change fuser lamp or upper roller. otherwise very reliable call me at 813-323-1410.
