Hi, I have an acer 17inch monitor, which i bought last year. Frequently I have pixels/dots which appear on the monitor. I would to know it is a problem with the monitor or its with the CPU. Thanx.

Red pixels

Hello,
Try connecting an external monitor to the computer and check if the external monitor displays the same thing. If the external monitor is fine then you would need to fix the LCD of your laptop. or have it replaced.
If the external monitor displays the same thing, then you would need to update the video driver in your computer. You can use RadarSync to automatically update the drivers.

I HAVE RED DOTS ALL OVER ANY BLACK COLOR OF THE PICTURE

Could be whats known as dead pixels, this is tested be showing up a black or white screen. Microsoft paint or word will do. If an area always has dots then dead pixel. However if it doesn't constantly remain a dot then, some-thing else. Dead pixels come about due to age.
A technician will be able to diagnose your problem by performing white screen test.

I have dots slowly starting to appear on my wd-73735. I bought the tv in February 2009 and the light engine had to be replaced once in September of last year. now what do I do?

These dots are called pixels and if they are a certain color, they are stuck. If they are black, they are dead. You can't do anything about to fix the dots neither the service without the replacement of the display (screen)

There is red dots all over the screen! I can still see the picture but the red dots are getting wort by the hour! What can I do to fix it?

I'm afraid that it sounds like the monitor wont last much longer. It could be that the control board is failin and pixels are getting stuck, but it would be more economical to replace the monitor.

Why are blue dots appearing on my Sony Flat screen tv. they seem to multiply every day.

If the dots are tiny, those are probably dead pixels. The circuitry that drives them is probably degrading over time for some reason. It's obviously defective, dead pixels happens a lot with LCD screens. I would hope it would be covered by warranty, because the only way to fix dead pixels is replacing the screen.

Sony a100 distortion dots - Im getting several

If these are single pixels on the LCD screen, they are normal. From pg. 8 of the user's guide:

"The LCD monitor is manufactured using extremely high-precision technology so over 99.99% of the pixels are operational for effective use. However, there may be some tiny black points and/or bright points (white, red, blue or green in color) that constantly appear on the LCD monitor. These points are normal in the manufacturing process and do not affect the images in any way. "

This may also be helpful.

"images may trail across the LCD monitor in a cold location. This is not a malfunction. When turning on the camera in a cold location, the LCD monitor may become temporarily dark. "

White dots appeare on my Samsung LCD screan

Sounds like your panel is on its last legs so to speak.
Might be time to look into replacing the panel. Running a high contrast can lead to a shorter panel life which may cause the occurence of dead pixels.

I have developed yellow dots in screen of new LCD tv what causes this and can it be repaired

I can only assume you're talking about a PC LCD Monitor.
How many yellow dots will tell you whether or not the manufacturer will replace. If it's 20 pixels in the same square inch then you might have a case. Inexpensive unknown brand name LCD's are known to have issues with random pixels. For that matter so have brand name LCD's, but less frequently. Having 1 or 2 bum pixels is not that uncommon. Call the manufacturer, though, You never know!
