Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use iPhoto or any other photo cataloging program.

SOURCE: hi, i have a canon powershot sd1100 is digital

On the Canon.com website you should be able to find all the drivers and software for your operating system and the camera as well.
But, if you want to avoid all that, use a card reader to view and copy the files to you computer, no matter what kind of computer you have. All newer operating systems will detect the card reader as a mass storage device.
Hope it works.

I am having Canon Digital Camera Model Powershot SD1100 IS. i want use this camera as a webcam. what are requirments to connect with the PC. Please suggest regarding this

You need a webcam. The SD1100 is designed as a camera, storing images (and incidentally, videos) to memory. It is not designed to stream live video to another device.

I know that wasn't the answer you wanted to see, but there it is.

PowerShot SD1100 IS - Problems!

It sounds like your SD card has become corrupted. Have you ever formatted it in your camera? If the answer is no (or you didn't know that it needed camera formatting), then this is even more likely the problem. A new unformatted card will initially work fine in the camera, but with time they nearly all will corrupt.
You'll need to format the card in the camera, using the camera's format option to rejuvenate the card, and to prevent this from happening again. However, this will erase any photos that are already on the card.
If you want to recover the photos first, here's some Mac freeware from CNET. You'll need to use a card reader with this software. Also if you have problems with this software, there are other "non-free" options available at CNET.
Good Luck!

Try a retailer near you to see if they will allow you to test your camera with a SD card from a display camera.
