NEED HELP WITH SOUND BAD HELP IF YOU CAN

Can some one help me I had sound and now I don't every time I go to windows media player it tell me that it can not play.Because there a problem with my sound device.It also tell me that there may not be a sound device installed on my computer.But it had sond until on day the sound just left.It also told me that it may be in use by another program or not functioning properly. But when I go to control panel and click on sound and audio device the device that go to the volume it black out,speaker,ect...
I can't makr it move at all to put back but it will not let me.....
CAN ANY ONE HELP ME WITH THIS BIG PROBLEM I REALY HOPE SO KIM SMITH THANK'S

Hi Kim,
Don't quite understand the end of your message but...

Have look at settings-control panel - system - hardware - device manager - audio. If you see a yellow ! against one of the audio drivers then either remove it and re-install the driver or try to update. If you have a yellow ! then the sound will never work.

Also if you go to start - help and support - enter "sound " in the search field you will be offered a few suggestions as to the cause of your problem.

Dear kim
thanks for posting your problem
your sound driver is corrupt.you have to reinstall the driver from the motherboard cd.
please give your motherboard specification.if your dont know then you give your computer model no.and make.
if you need further help please feel free to post.

Windows media player throws error when I play any audio


As you may have already notice, there isn't a problem with your driver.
However to gain a better understand the problem you rule out a couple of things. However, if the this problem is only present in windows media player. Then you should try another play i.e. VLC media player.

1. Go to you device manager and make sure the device is working properly. If not try uninstalling the device, restarted the computer letting windows discover the device again.

2. Next go to windows media player file (press "alt" key to get toolbar in newer version. Select options -> devices select your speaker -> properties and be sure that your audio device is available and selected.

3. Finally if all these options has failed, please use an alternative media like the one mention above (VLC media player).

I hope this have been a great help in your troubles. Please provide feedback on the solution.

I am already install realtek high defnition audio drivers but that is not working At the time of playing any media file using windows media player , it shows an error message that is "Windows...


go to control panel-sound-default audio device & check which device is enabled as default device. In case of HD audio remove the speaker jack & reinsert, if that port is selected as default audio then you should get an immediate message saying 'audio jack plugged in'.

Welcome.

Check if the sound driver is installed and up to date, follow these steps to find that.

Step 1:
  1. Click Start and then click Run.
  2. Type devmgmt.msc in the Open box, and then click OK.
  3. Check for Audio and if you see any yellow exclamation next to sound then either audio drivers are not installed or it needs to be updated.
Step 2:

To check manufacture try this.
  1. Click Start and then click Run.
  2. Type dxdiag in the Open box, and then click OK.
  3. Click the Sound tab.
  4. Under Device, look for Name, and under Driver, look for Provider.
  5. Click Exit.
Contact the manufacturer of the sound driver to request an updated sound driver.

If you dont see any problem with device manager (Step 1)
try below steps

Step 3: Use the Windows XP Sound Troubleshooter

loadTOCNode(2, 'resolution'); Windows XP includes a troubleshooting program which could help you resolve your sound issues. Start the Windows XP Sound Troubleshooter automatically or manually and then answer each question on-screen in order to try to find a resolution.
Start the Sound Troubleshooter loadTOCNode(3, 'resolution'); If you are already familiar with Windows XP Help and Support Center, click the following link to start the Sound Troubleshooter:

Start Sound Troubleshooter manually by using the following steps:

Step 4: Update your Media Player software

Method 1: Try another sound device loadTOCNode(2, 'resolution'); If possible, plug a different output device into the computer. For example, if you have been using speakers, try a different pair of speakers or a set of headphones to make sure that the problem is not related to the device itself.

Determine whether you can hear sound. If you can hear sound, there is a problem with the original output device and the issue is resolved. If you cannot hear sound, plug the original output device back into the computer and go to method 2.

My windows media player has no sound,ya the volume


Assuming you did not get a device error while attempting to play there is a sound device thing in control pannel open it and tell it to place a sound icon in the taskbar once the icon is in the taskbar double click it and make sure all volumes are on high and make sure none are checked mute. If this does not work for you you may have a more serious problem and will need to repost.

Can you try this:
  • Start-> Control Panel->Hardware and Sound
  • Sound / Manage Audio Devices
  • Highlight your audio device
  • Properties
  • Advanced
  • In the Exclusive Media section, UNCHECK the box "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device."

No sound on internet


i downloaded media player 11 and it want play even after i have gotten the MPEG I STILL CANT GET THE CORRECT PLUG IN FOR IT..i also brought DRIVERS DETECTIVE and another driver agent nothing is helping me...i have spent over a hundred fifty dollars on different things nothing helps even SRS sound system...please tell me where there is real help my music want play at all on media player 11

Sound Problem


Right Click, My Computer icon, click Manage, a window opens up, called Computer Management window. click Device Manager, and check on the right hand side of the window if there is any yellow exclamation mark, or a red X.

Hi,
Thanks for asking for solution,I would require some additional info.
1. Does windows media player give you an error while playing the file ?
2. Is the problem only in windows media player ? eg, are you getting windows startup sound.

In the meantime try system restore , take the computer back to the date when it was working fine.

ps: do let me know the make of the sound card and which windows operating system you are using
