Follow these steps to access the BIOS on a VAIO computer.
WARNING: Other than resetting the BIOS to the default values, making changes to the BIOS is an advanced procedure that can produce unintended results if not done properly. For instance, if you set a Machine Password and later forget that password, it will require advanced technical support and possibly service to regain access to the computer.
  1. Turn off the computer.IMPORTANT: If you are having difficulty accessing the BIOS, or are doing so as a step in troubleshooting an issue, it is recommended that you remove all media or any peripheral devices connected to the computer before trying to access the BIOS.
  2. Restart the computer.
  3. At the black VAIO logo screen, press the F2 key.
If you are accessing the BIOS as a step in troubleshooting an issue, you may need to reset the BIOS to the default settings. While the exact steps will vary slightly based on the version of the BIOS installed on the computer, these general steps will allow you to reset the BIOS to the factory default values:
  1. In the Setup Utility window, use the arrow key to select Exit.
  2. At the Exit screen, press the down arrow key to select Get Default Values, and then press the Enter key.
  3. At the Get Default Values prompt, use the arrow keys to select Yes, and then press the Enter key.
  4. At the Exit screen, with Exit Setup selected, press the Enter key.
  5. At the Exit prompt, use the arrow keys to select Yes, and then press the Enter key.
  6. The computer will restart.

Describe your VAIO E Series 2.26GHz Intel Core i3-350M Notebook - VPCEA23EN Problem WHEN I SWITCH IT ON IT SAYS OPERATING SYSTEM NOT FOUND

Hi.

Based on the information you have provided it seems that the issue might be due to the Operating System files.

Hence, as a first step, it would be better to reset the BIOS to its default values.

Please follow the steps mentioned in the below link to reset the BIOS:

http://www.kb.sony.com/selfservice/documentLink.do?externalId=C94679

After performing the BIOS reset, please reset the Computer for the settings to take effect.

Performing the BIOS reset should resolve the issue.

If the issue still persists even after performing a BIOS reset, it is required to restore the Computer to the Factory settings.

Restoring the Computer to the Factory settings will re-install the Operating System and delete all the Data in the Computer..

Hence, it is required to backup all the important Data before re-installing the Operating System.

Please follow the steps mentioned in the below link to restore the Computer to the Factory settings:

http://www.kb.sony.com/selfservice/documentLink.do?externalId=C1008013

Hope this helps.

Please feel free to contact for further assistance.

Os system not found,i cant boot windows

Hi khanaboki1,

This issue may occur if the Computer is not detecting the Internal Hard Disk Drive in it. Resetting the BIOS to the default values should fix the issue.

To reset the BIOS to the default values, please restart the Computer, press and hold the F2 Key. This will take you the BIOS Utility Window, there, please press the F9 Key to load the default values then F10 to save and exit. After that, please try restarting the Computer to check if the issue is fixed.

If the issue is not fixed, please try disconnecting all the external devices connecected to the Computer. Also, please confirm if the Hard Disk Drive is listed in the BIOS main window.

If the issue still persists, you may need to perform the System Recovery in the Computer to fix the issue. In that case, you can try accessing the Recovery Partition in the Computer to perform the System Recovery. To access the Recovery Partition, press and hold the F10 Key while restarting the Computer. This will launch the VAIO Recovery Wizard. There, please click "Proceed with System Recovery" and then you can select the "Restore C: Drive" option to re-install the Operating System in the Computer. Performing the Restore C: Drive will erase all the User Data in the Computer and restore it back to the factory settings.

Hope this helps.

Good Luck!

Please let me know if you have any further questions or require any further assistance.

Thanks for using FixYa.

If there is nothing wrong with your monitor, you should have a menu button on the monitor , open it and reset it to factory defaults. Also right click on your desktop, select properties and make sure you have your resolution set correctly, try changing it and see if that helps.
