Need to reset cmos

Restart your Sony Vaio computer. Press the "F2" key to enter the BIOS. Use the arrow keys to highlight the "Load BIOS Defaults" menu option. Select it by pressing "Enter." Highlight "Load BIOS Defaults" again and hit "Enter." This will reset all of the settings of your Vaio's BIOS back to their original factory defaults. You can now select "Save Changes and Exit" to exit the BIOS.

Wear an anti-static wrist strap to avoid electrostatic discharge damage to the Asus motherboard or CMOS chip or other sensitive components. My 8 year-old Sony Vaio PCV-V200G is very slow; I've heard of Registry & script problems. Also, My Norton AntiVirus protection constantly does background scanning. Could these be the reasons for slow...

Most likely yes. You should uninstall any software that comes by default with the manufacturer. Even better, reinstall your windows so you get all your setting clean.
Then just install window anti virus and you should be fine.

My sony computerPCV-RS410 used hitachi hard dr.HDS22512VLAT20 tried to run the discovery disk.after start up disk disk one is working, but in 2'nd disk it coming only up to 22% then stop. How can I make...

You can try getting another set of recovery discs from Sony. Also try resetting the bios. then running the recovery discs again. You can access bios by pressing F2 repeatedly right after you turn on the computer. Then on bottom of screen it will say you could press F5 or another button to load default values. Do that then save and exit. If this does not work. See if you can get a regular windows xp disc and try reinstalling just a normal copy of windows on to the pc. It may not have all the VAIO utilities. But most of them are not needed.

Sony Vaio - Bios issue

Bios Can be reset doing like this
"take extreme care"

I would suggest to carefully look over the motherboard for each and every jumper.

. Different VAIOS with different motherboards work differently, so you have to spend some time with a strong light. Look for jumpers and pins labeled: PW, Pwd, spwd, opwd, Paswd, and anything else that could conceivable be used to demark the password pin. Remove the jumper and reboot.

Alternately, removing the CMOS battery for four hours will generally take away any password settings... some require 12 hours... most require 20 minutes, but you never know.
This will mean you will have to reset everything in the BIOS when you install it... date, time, boot order, etc

*****
BIOS Can be updated like this have a look on it
***********
Start/Control Panel/Performance and Maintenance/System/Hardware/Device Manager/System Devices/

Then right click on: "Microsoft System Management BIOS Driver" and "Update Driver..."

Then "Yes, this time only" and "Next"

Then "Recommended" and WAIT

If your drivers are actualized it wouldn't find anything

**********
i hope your prob will be solved

My sony vaio desktop with all the icons shifted to the left

If there is nothing wrong with your monitor, you should have a menu button on the monitor , open it and reset it to factory defaults. Also right click on your desktop, select properties and make sure you have your resolution set correctly, try changing it and see if that helps.
