Try to plug your phone to other USB port in your PC I will recommend to plug it at the USB port at the back of your CPU. USB supply of power at the back of the CPU is sufficient to make your device function properly so it may be able to detect by the system..mostly device can't recognize by the system because they didn't function properly specially if they are plugged in a USB port who don't have enough supply of power to make them work properly..Hope it may help you..
FIRST OF ALL, NEVER EVER PLUG IT INTO THE COMPUTER WHILE ITS ON. ALWAYS TURN THE PHONE OFF BEFORE HAND. AS FAR AS YOUR COMPUTER NOT RECOGNIZING THE USB CABLE, IT MAY ACTUALLY BE YOUR COMPUTER. AFTER ALL IF IT WAS THE CABLE, YOUR PHONE WOULDN'T CHARGE SINCE IT IS THE SAME CABLE FOR CHARGING AND USB CONNECTIONS. MY COMPUTER HAS HAD TROUBLE SEVERAL TIMES WHEN PLUGGING IN NEW OR DIFFERENT DEVICES INTO THE PORT. TO CHECK THE USB PORT ON YOUR COMPUTER.... GO TO CONTROL PANEL, THEN DEVICE MANAGER. DOUBLE CLICK UNIVERSAL SERIAL BUS CONTROLLERS. IF ANY OF THEM ARENT WORKING PROPERLY THERE WILL BE A YELLOW TRIANGLE WITH AN EXCLAMTION POINT BESIDE THE UNFUNCTIONING USB. IF IT IS NOT FUNCTIONING YOU WILL HAVE TO UPDATE THE DRIVER. IF YOUR PORTS, DRIVERS ETC DONT SHOW THE YELLOW TRIANGLE, THEY ARE WORKING. TRY PLUGGING THE PHONE INTO A DIFFERENT PORT UNTIL YOU FIND ONE THAT WILL ACCEPT IT. I HAVE A LAPTOP AND MY PHONE ISNT RECOGNIZED IN THE SAME USB PORT (ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE COMPUTER) THAT I USE FOR MY PRINTER. I USE A DIFFERENT PORT FOR MY CELL PHONE. IF YOUR COMPUTER IS OLDER , THE USB PORT MAY NOT BE HIGH SPEED. OLDER COMPUTERS HAVE USB PORTS WITH A SPEED OF 1x OR A MIX OF PORTS WITH 1x AND 2.O (2.0 IS HIGHSPEED 1x IS NOT). I HOPE THIS HELPS!!!
I understand that you are unable to use the USB port of your computer.
To isolate the issue try performing these steps.
1) Check whether the device is working fine. 2) Check with other USB ports to the same Notebook. 3) If these steps do not work then you can do this. a) If your Notebook is under warranty you can send it to free repair ( Contact HP.com for more information) b) If it is not under warranty then check for the repair cost from HP.com chat support.
I have discovered that some of the usb cables that connect to your phone and your computer do not all work. At one time I had to try 3 different cables before finding one that worked on my phone and computer. I also learned that if I could not get my computer to acknowledge that the USB was being used by my cell phone I would shut down my computer and then try a different USB port. Sometimes it made a difference. I have heard that when you first use a program with a specific USB port it is best to always use the same USB port if you can remember which one you used in the first time for that program. As for losing your CD. I am figuring that this is the CD for Motorola Tools??? If it is you can do a search online for Motorola Tools Free Download... I hope I have helped.
