Question about Printers & Copiers

My printer won't print.....it doesn't communicate from the computer. I do file-print, then when the "picture" comes up, I click PRINT in the right hand corner, but nothing happens. I pulled out the power cord....then replaced it, tried again but nothing happens. I'm using an Apple computer and have had no trouble before. I was experimenting and trying to learn how to email a message......that's when I messed everything up. Would appreciate hyour help. My Canon is a PIXMA MX310;

    Our printer (Espson Stylus Photo RX680) works with our laptop, but it has quick working with our iMac. I can't pinpoint what could have been done. It worked and then an hour later it didn't print. I have reinstall the driver from our installation CD, uninstalled, reinstalled with the updated driver from the Espon internet site, uninstalled, tried again. The best I've gotten is that right now it acts like it is printing, but only blank sheets go through. But still, when we hook the printer up to another computer, it works fine.

    i go to Roosevelt Junior High and in my science class we're doing this health problem projects. i typed my report and it won't print. i'm getting so frustrated. my science teacher is Mr.Basey and he doesn't accept late work. any solutions. Thanx, Aanchal

Why doesn't my printer communicate with m,y computer?


Try uninstalling and reinstalling or doing a repair. Make sure you have your install cd handy. You can uninstall or repair by going to control panel > hardware and sound > devices and printers. Then right click on the printer and either troubleshoot or remove the printer all together.

Have not got manual for the lexmark interpret s405, so do not understanding controls. Also the printer keeps printing cannot stop it?


You can access the User's Guide from your computer. Just click on Start > All Programs > Lexmark > View User's Guide.

If your printer keeps on printing the same document, there might be a lot of print jobs in your queue. You might have sent the same print jobs when you were getting the communication error. Just click on Start > Printers and Faxes > Double click on the Lexmark icon and clear the print jobs in the queue.

If you're frequently experiencing problems communicating with your Lexmark printer, if your printer is connected to your network, make sure that it's getting a good signal from the router. You might also want to update the firmware of your printer. Just go to http://bit.ly/ghfW8H to download the firmware update.

A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer (if USB connected)> reboot your pc > unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer (if USB connected). Then try to print again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection or when the WiFi light on the printer turns solid green (if WiFi connected.).


If that doesn't help, try the steps below:

  1. Disconnect the USB cable connecting the printer from your computer.
  2. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.
  3. Delete the Lexmark print object.
  4. Reboot computer.
  5. Re-brick your printer by pulling out the power supply - black box where the power cord is plugged into on the back of the printer, and re-plug after 30 seconds.
  6. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to the computer.
  7. Wait until your computer fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the list, try to print a document to verify that the problem is fixed.

Print mode does not work pages come out blank


It could be the cartridges in the printer. Disconnect the printer from your computer. Open the printer cover and remove the cartridges. Close the cover. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reinsert both cartridges. Reconnect the printer into your computer. Try to print again.
If that doesn't help, try to clean the cartridge nozzles using the Lexmark software on your computer.
  1. Click Start > Programs or All Programs > Lexmark Z2400 Series
  2. Click Maintenance > Clean Cartridges.
  3. Click Print.
  4. Follow the instructions on the computer screen.
  5. If print quality has not improved, then wipe the cartridge nozzles using a slightly moistened soft cloth to clean it from possible dirt and clogs.
You can also reinstall the printer driver on your computer to repair any corrupted files necessary for printer communication and processes.

I have an epson stylus TX110 and it was printing fine today, but then as is sent a job from adobe it prepared to print (made usual noises) but then didnt take any paper and just went quiet. I've tried...


Try purging your temp files. If it's a usb connection try a different usb port. Since it can print from scan and do a test nozzle print then it's not getting data from the pc to the printer. If a different port doesn't work either, and if purging your temp files doesn't work try it on a different computer if possible. You may need to reinstall the driver for it.

oh and make sure you don't end up with one of those 'oh duh' moments :) ... check both ends of the cable to make sure it didn't become loose or unplugged :)
