Hello stayed

Are you attempting to view an email "attachment" or a "hyperlink" in an email?

I believe the problem you're experiencing may be caused by one of two settings (or both).

(01) The option to block images being set in Outlook Express. (This option is a security feature.) If that's the case, the instructions HERE should help to resolve your problem.

-AND/OR-

(02) Unsafe attachments are blocked. If that's the case, you can find instructions HERE for changing this setting.

Let us know if one or both of these options does the trick.

    stayed,

In future, please, reserve "Thanks for Trying" and "Inappropriate" ratings for those cases where the expert(s) (who **VOLUNTEER** their time and expertise to help you address your issues) was/were unprofessional, unskilled, inappropriate, and/or provided no help what-so-ever towards resolving your issue.

This **ONLY AFTER** you have worked w/ the expert(s) - dialoguing w/ them back and forth ***a minimum of 3 times*** in the process of troubleshooting your problem.

The world of computing is ***VERY*** complex. Remember, we experts have absolutely no more information about the issue you are experiencing other than what you provide. Therefore we are effectively going into your problem "blind". To expect a "quick fix" or "instant answer" w/out further exploration and trouble-shooting of your problem is not reasonable in the world of computers.

Trouble-shooting computer-related issues is a pain staking process. It takes time, patience, expertise and, most importantly, **CLEAR COMMUNICATION** between the user and the expert.

A "Thanks for Trying" or "Inappropriate" rating negatively impacts an expert volunteer's standing on FixYa. By unfairly assigning such a rating, you effectively punish that expert for having volunteered his/her time and expertise to help you to resolve your issue.

Please, be patient when you've requested help in resolving a problem. Work ***WITH*** your expert(s). The experts on FixYa are much more willing to work w/ Askers who will participate in the problem resolution process rather than assign a negative rating if their problem is not diagnosed or their question answered instantaneously.

    Thank you for understanding,
    BJ

Run a thorough virus scan first. MS Security Solution is free. Plus Housecall on line scan might still be free. Free meaning it will also remove the virus not just identify it.

In Outlook, you can use the Import and Export Wizard as the interface for Address Book conversion. To convert a WAB file, follow these steps: 1. Start Outlook if it is not currently running. 2. On the File menu, click Import and Export. 3. Select Import Internet Mail and Addresses, and then click Next. 4. Select Outlook Express 4.x, 5 from the list, and then click Next. 5. Select the product for which you wish to convert items from the list, and then click Next. 6. Select any combination of the Mail or Addresses from the items listed.

NOTE: With the exception of rules conversion from Outlook Express, the steps to convert addresses is the same. 7. Click Next. 8. Select a destination for the imported address data. The destination depends on the type of Outlook installation you selected initially. a. The Internet Mail Only installation of Outlook 98 allows only the Contacts folder as the destination. b. The Corporate or Workgroup option allows the options of Personal Address Book or Outlook Contacts. 9. Select the appropriate duplicate items option. Click Finish to complete the import.
Hope that helps..........

Server Error 553, ErrorNumber 0x800CCC78

(Outlook Express) Email is not configured to relay mail to address
Try this settings:

Outlook Express
  1. Click Tools then Accounts
  2. Click Mail
  3. Click Properties
  4. Click Servers
  5. In the Account Name field, it should be the first part of your email address (probably it's like this already).
  6. Put a checkmark by My Server Requires Authentication at the bottom of the page.
  7. Click Settings
  8. Select Log on Using
    • Type Account Name (which will be your full email address)
    • Type Password (which will be your email address password)
  9. Click Apply
  10. Click OK
  11. Click Close
This should fix the Outlook Express to send email, close Outlook Express and re-open it to start sending mail.

Microsoft Outlook
  1. Click Tools then Email Accounts (Accounts and Services on older versions of Outlook)
  2. Click View and Change and Click Next (skip if it opens up to the account screen)
  3. Click Change or Properties of your Email Account
  4. Click More Settings
  5. Click Outgoing Server
  6. Check My Server Uses Authentication
  7. Select Log on Using
    • Type Account Name (which will be your full email address)
    • Type Password (which will be your email address password)
  8. Click OK
  9. Click Next
  10. Click Finish

This should fix the Outlook to send email. Close Outlook and re-open it to start sending mail.

I use Outlook Express for Emailing, i would like to change my present email address please can you help me to do this? Regards Clive.

Outlook Express is just a software which can send and recieve emails from any email account configured on it(Outlook Express). regardless of yahoo, gmail, comcast.net ,aol.com etc.

So if you want to change your email address and want to use it on outlook express, you need to first create an email account by going to the website on which you want to create an email address.

Once you have created the email address we can look for the POP/SMTP server settings of that particular email account on the internet .
Once we have those(POP/SMTP) addresses we can configure Outlook Express to send and recieve emails for your new email account.
