When you plug it in, if you go to my computer do you see its disk there as a removeable drive?

then you can use a program like

to find out what is takeing up all the space in the player.
you can try to just format it there, but I wouldnt recommend it unless its the only choice.

I formatted the Gigabeat, install the software, it's now reads System error. Is there a fix?

I would try setting up RockB\box on your Gigabeat. Their port is not quite 100% but its very nice. I use it on my S60 and its very stable for me.

Frozen screen on Gigabeat S30

I left the Gigabeat on until the battery ran out. It then turned itself off automatically and allowed me to re-charge the battery. When I turned the Gigabeat on, it again worked perfectly,

Cannot view Gigabeat s30 as a drive letter (e.g. D,E etc)

Hey JayMac, Your s30 is not possible to map it to a drive letter. The reason ? cause your s30 and the other brothers of your mp3 are MTP class mp3's. Meaning that they are Media Transfer Protocol mp3's, so you can only transfer media files. If your mp3 player would be a USB Mass Storage Device, like alot of other mp3's, well you would've been able to recover you're files. But until now, the answer is no you can't recover the files just becauses of that stupid invention of Microsoft, the MTP.
