What type of video card does your laptop have?? A lot of video cards are not compatible with Vista. Did you try to going to the manufacturer's website and checking for a updates on your video card? They might have a update for Vista? If you can find out what type of video card you have. Since this is a dell, you should be able to contact dell. Give them your laptop number and they can tell you what make and model you have installed.

My Dell inspiron 1100 screen size upgrade

We've seen this problem many times. The screen you installed is not compatible with the laptop. They sent you an OEM 15" screen. You will also see the DELL logo when the computer starts up is out of place. This shows that the screen is a lower/higher resolution than what your motherboard's video card can support. Unfortunately this screen will not work with your laptop.
Best bet if you want to upgrade to 15" screen is find a used laptop screen supplier in your area and go in and try different 15" screens. You can try to match the number at the back of your screen which looks like:

LTNxxxxxx
LPxxxx
Bxxxxx
Wxxxx

Try getting any of these ones and check compatibility:
LTN150XD-L01
LP150X2-A2
LP150X09-B3

Hi I am Vortash It sounds like your graphics driver has become corrupt restore may be an option however it may be better to reinstall the graphic card drivers .. uninstall the monitor first from your Device manager screen by selecting ..Control Panel .. and then device manager if in vista
and if in xp control panel...system .. device manager .. click on the display and uninstall ... click on display adapter and uninstall .. turn off and reboot place whatever disk in the cd the installation wiz ask's for and let the system do the rest. follow the same proceadure and install the next device then reboot and see if that has cured your problem if not there may be the chance your set has had a knock and the LCD has been damaged ... hope this helps Regards Vortash

I-INC monitor to use with my Dell Laptop, no signal to monitor?

When Windows logo disappear on the I-INC, do you still see it on the Laptop monitor?

All laptops have function keys to switch the screen between the external monitor (I-INC) and laptop monitor. On your laptop, it is Fn+F8 key. Press them once and wait for 3 seconds, it will switch the image between 2 monitors (external monitor ONLY, laptop monitor ONLY, and both).

During start-up, do not close the laptop cover. Because it may put your laptop into a stand-by mode and turn off the screen. You need to modify this Power Option setting within the Control Panel.

Switch monitors between a inspiron 1100 & lattitude d600??

Im not sure if the're compatible. The're the same display type ( TFT active matrix) but that would also depend on your video card. Your best bet is to buy an external 15" lcd monitor as you can find one for under $100.

Inspriron 1100

laptops are very specific about what you can replace parts with.
Take it back to where you bought it and ask to exchange for a 14 "
If you want to see a bigger picture on that laptop the only way is to plug in an external monitor; in the back there should be a plug for an external monitor. Plug this in to any computer monitor. You will have to adjust the resolution.
