Hope that helps...

Just got one of these in. Same problem. You may not have to purchase parts for this one. If you can open the back cover,(there will be two wires still connected to cover upon opening, remove these, to actually pull cover off) be careful. You will find a power supply board on the left side. Take the power supply out. (Be sure your TV has not been plugged in for about 4 hours to reduce shock.) You will need to resolder the pins on resistor RP 12. I found a bad ground. Also resolder pins on Transfomer T2 and T3( these are yellow boxes on top of board). We are are soldering under the board of coarse. Now on the right side of the power supply board, find the signal board. You will see four grounding strips taped in black. Purchase at hardware store, metal tape (used for taping duct work). Retape the four ground straps, while pressing down on these springing ground straps. Many, many times a bad ground will cause problems as described. Replace boards and cover and cover wires (as mentioned on removal). If you cannot do this, take this info to a TV tech. Let me know how this works. Thanks for asking, sincerely Matt of Martins TV Repair.

Okay, so my Panasonic PT-43LC14 went black in mid show last night. The bulb is approximately 18 months old. The LED indicators upon Power On are; Power LED blinks green for approximately 70 seconds; Then...

Check the bulb again and look at the root of where the main stem comes out inside and be sure you don't see any bubble like appearence around the stem at the bottom there. If you do see this then the bulb is bad. Otherwise try this: Hold volume down on front of unit and pip on remote for about 5 seconds. Message will come on screen that timer has been reset to zero. This sets the lamp timer to 0

The picture wont appear, i get sound but the fan seems to be having trouble and th picture wont appear

A bad fan will keep the machine from producing an image but I suspect it is a bad color wheel. When color wheel fails, you may hear a high pitched whine and no image. No image can also be caused by a burned out lamp, bad ballast or power supply board. You can call 1-800-samsung to find the nearest service center.

My tv popped shut off and wouldnt come back on unplugged it it will power on and shut right back off

Since you say it made a pop sound, there is a defective part on one of the circuit boards. It shouldn't be very hard to identify due to the fact that it will be burned or bulging. Capacitors can make this pop sound due to the fact that the electrolyte evaporates inside of them and they vent. Some decide to explode rather than vent. You could look around inside your tv and inspect the circuit boards and see if you can find the bad component. If you are handy with a soldering iron you could do the repair yourself. If not, it might be time to upgrade to a new set or if it is worth it to you, have this one repaired at a shop. Sometimes when you repair the tv, there may be an underlying cause that made the part go bad or soon after, another component may fail.

I have a sony lcd kf-60xbr800 no picture in any input or raster no picture in component only menu. i reset the set and still no picture. all tuner voltages ok. help sergioaguirre0182@hotmail.com. thanks

(i) Make sure that the power cable from the TV is securely plugged into a functional wall outlet.
(ii) Then, check to see if the TV/Video setting is correct: when watching TV, it's set to TV, and when watching connected equipment, it's set to video 1,2,3, etc.
(iii) Check if the Parental control feature is activated. You can check it using the Parent menu.
(iv) If the LCD projection TV's power is ON, and LAMP indicator is flashing red then the lamp for the light source burns out. Replace the lamp with new Sony XL-2000U replacement lamp.
(v) If the LCD projection TV doesn't turn ON and a red light keeps flashing then the TV needs service.

My rca rear projection model P46924 chassis PTK195N4A only ticks when turned on. before it went out it started pulling in on sides leke a pincusion problem and vertical height would stretch about 4"....

1. Try this - hold the menu button down for 10 seconds. TV should power up; you will have to turn off front panel buttons on menu.

2. You can also try a hard reset: Unplug TV from AC mains and remove all cables from TV. Wait about 30 minutes and re-plug to AC power and redo the cabling. Switch on the TV and see if it works..

3. Powering down the set or putting it in standby may have allowed the power supply to cool. Weak capacitors often go out of spec when they cool, thus preventing a section of the power supply from firing up properly again. There is a simple trick...just warm the back of the TV with a hair dryer for 5-7 mins after you have unplugged the TV. Look for the little areas of holes in the back panel of TV. Use these as your guide at where to use the hairdryer, but don't hold the dryer too close (say 5-6inches away). (Make sure the dryer is on High heat). If the TV doesn't turn on after you have heated it up (like it tries to come on but then turns off) you need to unplug the TV again, this resets it. And repeat those steps till it works. Resetting the TV after it fails to turn on is the key. Also, just leave the TV on. Don't turn in off. Since it is LCD, it doesn't take much power...only a few bucks extra a month for your utility bill.

4. A circuit board may crack about some of the larger components mounted on it. Try hitting the TV firmly on the side to confirm this. If the picture changes, then you probably have a bad solder somewhere. You can inspect the PCB's for fractures, and then repair them. It may also be poor soldering that has failed. I would be checking for these things first.

If all the voltages measure normal, the failure could be in the LCD's inverter board. I've checked the schematic and it seems like the 16 volts could be a bit higher, check the electrolytic capacitors filtering the voltage for the inverter board.
Click here to download the service manual.
Good Luck.
