Me too!  The ink tanks are correct, I don't know how many times I've taken them out and put them back in and power cycled the printer, and still it insists there is a problem! This is driving me crazy.  I cannot print!

Ich habe schon oft den Tank ausgewechselt, immer schreibt er Es sind mehrere Tintenbehälter der folgenden Farbe eingesetzt.

I keep getting the same message that more than one tank of ink is installed then switches to "does not recognize one tank of ink" what's the deal with these printers? How do you fix this???? It won't print anything.

Printer tells me to check ink, and that more than one color is un use at the same time.  It thinks that my yellow is a magenta...  which it most certainly is not!  WTF

I think I have come up with a solution!

When the error happens:

Open the cover and re-seat the cartridge.
Tilt the whole printer forward about 30 degrees or more
Close the cover.

This has worked for me multiple times now. I think there is a small sensor behind the contact chip that detects ink levels and when my printer is flat the level of ink is lower than the sensor, when I tilt the printer the error vanishes because the ink covers the sensor. Though I am not sure why the software in the printer determines that there are duplicate cartridges instead of just a low ink warning.

If you still can't get it try taking a standard pencil eraser and gently rub it over the contacts to clean off any oxidation, also do this to the prongs that contact the chip that are inside the cartridge carrier, They bend easily so do it very lightly.

I can't fix ti too.

BUT... I did come up with a temporary solution.
1) Turn printer off.
2) Unplug USB cord.
3) Turn printer on.
4) Then plug USB cord.

It "should" work again.

Make sure that the inks are not re-manuafactured ones with chips taken off genuine canon inks. It is possible that the wrong chips could be fitted to the wrong colours.

Are you using genuine ink cartridges? If not, then perhaps there is no microchip on your ink cartridge. You can take the old chip off your used cartridge and put it on this cartridge and see if this solves your problem.

That error is from a defective ink cartridge, if all are installed correctly. Most often I've found the 5BK cartridge to be defective. If the store won't exchange it you might call Canon at 1-800 OK canon

Printing Cartridge error

Hi,

I've seen this problem before and it turned out to be a faulty chip on the cartridge as opposed to a problem with the printer. Canon should replace the cartridge free of charge if this happens.
