MAYTAG atlantis MDG6400AW, dryer not heating

Last night the dryer was on all night.  I thought it was strange when it was running this morning.  Now I realize that there's no heat.  I have no prior experience fixing this.  Can you tell me what needs to be done?  I wonder if this is expensive if I call a repair person.thanks!

Yes I have the same problem. But I did replace the sensor on the side of the flame chamber or duct. It worked good for one night then returned doing the same thing. I checked the coil or part that sits on top of gas line, this part has two different connectors on it. It was very hot to touch, could this be over heating? It seems dryer works for a short while then no heat or flame heating coil becomes bright red to light gas, but no gas.

Dryer produces heat, but clothes don't dry

Sounds like the vent has a lint build up inside of it. A moister sensor detects any lint build up and keeps the heat in check. The dryer will produce very little heat this was. Clean the entire venting tubing and it shall run better for you

There is a technical data sheet in behind the the control panel if they didn't hide it somewhere else. It's there somewhere. Best off to call a certified repair company such as Sears.

I have a maytag dryer and when you start it the timer doesn't move - it will run for hours unless you stop it. now when you pull the knob to start it doesn't respond

Sounds like the problem is in your timer contacts, in which case you would have to replace your timer. A no heat scenario on auto dry could also cause a dryer to run continuously.

Hope this helps _MJ_
