Question about Miele Dishwashers

Miele G646 dishwasher. This dishwasher has a ventilation vent on the front panel. During the drying cycle the dishwasher is now making "choking" noises through ventilation vent and when complete and open door water pours out of the ventilation vent. This machine is about 5 years old. Regards Nic

You have the Miele problem.

This happens every year or two. Take off the outside front panel to access the hose that runs from the bottom of the fan down to the dispenser, and lets the water drain out through it to the interior. Clean out that hose as well as you can. Replace. This is a stupid problem that Miele should have a permanent fix for. Grrrr.
In fact I just did this with mine today. The hose cleans out quickly, the problem is getting the front back on. 4 hands make it easier. It slips on when you start close to vertical, then slip in in and down. For putting the screws back in, you might have to use a micro screwdriver to re-align the little clips on the door panel. (You will see what I mean when you do it!) This costs a service call ($100, give or take) to call for service. It can be done at home with no added parts. I think it applies to all Miele dishwashers, and I have now done it several times. As I said before, this is a design fault and should not be necessary!

If you have a helper to help contain the mess, you can spray water into the fan area (best is backward through the hose, but try all directions) and catch the runoff. We have done this and it catches a lot of gunk.muck and slop.

Doggone design sucks on an otherwise nice machine!!

Yes solved by pulling door apart. There is a small drain tube from the bottom of the ventilation vent, which had some blockage.

Cleared it put door back together and now works just like new.

Cheers

PS: I still have the puddle on the floor, so am trying again only 3 days later! But this has worked several times before.

The little vent above the words turbothermic plus is spitting out water during the cycle.

The fan assembly's drainage path is clogged. With time, food residue cloggs up the drainage path, inside the "Turbothermic" fan, and water accumulates during the drying cycle. The control panel, that houses the fan assembly, will need to be removed. Door panels will also need to come off. Unplug wires and drain hose to the fan, and loosen the round fan grill that secures the fan assembly (located inside the door). Take apart the fan assembly; unclogg drainage path and hose; and wash all parts. Re-assemble, install, and plug, the fan assembly, drain hose and door panels. Good Luck.

Water collects in door during drying cycle

The drain hose for the dryer fan is blocked. If you remove the outer door (six Screws three bottom screws down either side) you will see a hose that runs from the bottom of the fan to the top of the detergent dispenser, removed hose and clean this will resolve the problem

I have a Miele G 892 Dishwasher and recently the vent for the Turbotronic drying fan has been sticking in open position at the ned of the cycle. Teh result is the next cycle the vent fills with dirty water...

You'll have to take the door panel apart. There's a small drain hose between the turbothermic unit and the detergent dispenser. It's most likely clogged.

The drying vent on the front of our miele dishwasher is leaking water and the fan is making a lot of noise at the end of cycle

Hi,

if you remove the door panel you will see a small hose from the fan to the combi dispener. Remove this and blow through it. Also connect it to the combi dispener and blow and then to the fan end and blow. Food and muck block the pipe and the excess water cannot escape back into the unit so instead it pours out the vent. you will find the fan is then quieter.

Miele G646 dishwasher keeps trying to pump out

Had a similar problem with an 846, but with the inlet outlet lamp flashing. the bottom tray had filled with watedr froma dodgy seal. I switched off and disconnected the electricity. Removed the bottom front cover below the door (2 screws behind the pretty kickboard which also had to come off). The bottom of the machien was a big puddle. I dried this out with paper twowel, put the machine back together and it ran fine. I am going to replace the pump seals now as the machine seems otherwise OK.

Good luck with yours. rupertvdpP

Drying cycle vent fan is noisy. How can I fix it

I had the same issue but mine is an inbuilt unit. I removed the 4 screws for the front main facia panel which was then removed. Following this I removed the 6 screws that hold the plastic control cover in place and then the three screws (1 top centre and 1 on left and right) that holds the control plate which I then gentrly lowered.

I then used a flat blade screw driver to turn the inside fan cover anti clockwise about 45 degrees which allows the fan module to be removed. Then disconnected the drain pipe at the fan module only and power and control cables.

I then blew the gunk out of the fan module and gave this a good wash through with hot water to ensure it was clean and then dryed with paper towel. I then also blew out the drain pipe. The remaining gunk was blown into the interior of the dish washer out a vent just below the rinse aid unit.

If I need to do this again then I would have removed both ends of the pipe and washed this through with hot soapy water to make sure it was clean.

To reassemble do the reverse process. Assistance will probably be required to reassemble the front main facia panel as one person would need two hands to hold in place and another to locate and start the screws. A couple of clamps could over come this.
