Question about CSi Speco Speco DVR-T4IP 4-Channel Triplex Digital Video Recorder with Built-In CD-RW
I bought a used Speco DVR model T16/IP which shows 'HDD Not Lock' on boot up. There is no power to the HDD or CD-RW drives. I jumpered across the key switch on the HDD tray, but still the same thing.
I don't know the history of this unit (eBay buy), but I found a fried fan on the back of the HDD enclosure. These units have a seperate board that appears to be the IDE interface/power supply for the disk & CD drives. Speco doesn't sell parts for them (i.e. replacement boards) to mere mortals. Any ideas?

• Press MENU to enter the OSD menu.
• Enter password using Channel keys. The default passwords are Admin/1234 or user/4321.
• Strongly suggest changing the passwords to prevent unauthorized access.

Sounds like you have a bad harddrive which is what DVR's usually record their data to. You need to take it in to get it fixed or if you can do it yourself, find out what kind of drive it has, e.g. the size of it, the interface (IDE or SATA) and then purchase one close to the same size and replace it.

Constant beeping during POST test (when booting) usually indicates hard drive failure. The internal hard drive will probably need replacement or re-formatting. Call Speco Technologies at the toll free number:1.800.645.5516
