Question about SanDisk Sansa E280 MP3 Player

Perpetual load My Sansa E280 has stopped... acting normal. today i started it up, and none of the music would play b/c it said i needed to resyncronize to continue the subscription. thats not the problem.. although most music was from cds. the problem is now, starting today, it starts up and is perpetually starting up. more specifically, it goes to the "sandisk" screen, fades to white, and starts the whole process over again. it goes on and on and on.... ive had it for about 8 months, and i dont think i have the warranty, and i cant afford to replace it. I'm not sure the store will replace it for me. what do i do? purchase a new player? help!!!! this thing was expensive!!

    Thanks for suggesting, but i downloaded the software, and plugged in my player when instructed to do so, and its not responding. just doing the same fade to white thing... what am i supposed to do? some ppl said i may need to switch it to a different mode, but how am i supposed to do that when the player wont even turn on?? this was expensive, and i heard good things about it. please please please suggest something else if you can think of something.

    well i called sandisk--and please maybe post this as a solution-- and heres what you need to do:

    1) put your e200 in LOCK mode so you can see the orange

    2) next press and hold the record button AS you plug it into your computer

    3) watch the screen, b/c it should go into recovery mode.

    4) go to my computer and go to the 16 mb drive and enter it.

    5) create a folder called "Sansa.fmt"

    6) disconnect, and the player should reformat. be patient b/c this may take a while, and then unlock it the player and try to turn it on. it should work and you should be able to use it. but all your data will be erased. if this doesnt work, i have no clue what to tell you, but to call sansa and tell them this doesnt work. the number is posted above i think.

I would recommend you to go to the sandisk site to update the firmware on your device even if you have done so in the past or you can contact sandisk to they can help you with updating the firmware on your device..Please follow the link below to get the firmware

    Tried to reset the device if you have not done so..To reset the device preses the power button for about 15-20 seconds..let me know what happens....

Have a Sansa Fuze, a friend downloaded some music but it will not play, I get this message, "synchronise to continue your music subscription". what does it mean? thanks for your help

Perhaps the music your friend gave your was from a subscription-based service? It could also have DRM so the music knows it is not supposed to be on your MP3 player. Either way, those two situations mean the music is digitally protected from copying.
Other than that, perhaps there is a setting the needs to be switched and resolved through your synching of the device. Did you personally start a subscription based music service for you Sansa?

It tells me i have no more space, but none of my music plays, i go in and no music comes up

Sansa E280 will no longer shuffle music.

Try this �� Reset All
If your device freezes up press the Menu button and hold for 15 seconds.
This is like a power down of the device. Once you perform the reset, the adjustments you made during last operation
will be gone.
Did you try to update your sansa click on link and download install run connect sansa when asked.

How do I delete duplicate songs from my e280 song list?

How are you supposed to download music into a sansa mp3 player.. I am a beginner so please make the instructions as simple as possible and quick!! =))

Added music, but can't listen

I experienced a similar problem caused by corrupt files saved on the internal memory of my e280.
(I could not delete/remove the files) I had to format the internal drive of the e280
and re-copy the files back on to the unit. Works great now. When formatting the device
use the command from windows. (ie right click on the internal memory icon and select format)

Note: Formatting will remove/delete all the files (eg music,photos..) from the e280 so make sure that
you have backups.

Bad Tracks

For the bad tracks go Under Settings, look for Mode or USB Mode. Put the unit in MSC (if that's available) or Rhapsody.

Connect it to the computer. See what driveletter it is :F: Sansa E280...G: Sansa E280... whatever it is.

Click Start/Run and type in chkdsk F:/f (or G: or whatever the letter is) . That will check and may fix the bad files.

Lost music

If the songs are DRM-encrypted wma files, then the license may have expired or needs to be renewed.

Also, if you have the auto-sync option enabled in Windows Media Player - disable it.

Formated the SanDisk Sansa E280

You dragged & dropped files in recovery mode? Recovery mode is only for re-installing the firmware or formatting the device if it is unresponsive. If you are wanting to drag and drop files onto the device, the music needs to be put into the Music folder on the device. If you do not see the Music folder, you will need to enable hidden files and folders on your PC. Best of Luck. p.s. - you can add to this question this doesnt work.
