I print flower pictures. Purples/blacks/blues come out with a lot of red in them - for instance, purple comes out maroon. How to I reset the colour balance?

Assuming it is not a problem with ink or toner feed, the normal printer does not determine internally the colors but only follows instructions from the application (program) you are using.

If a test page from the printer shows the correct color or color balance, then you will have to do the color correction from the program that is controlling the printer.

Carefully read of the application's features and the variables possible from within the program itself.

BTW, the paper stock you are using and its absorption characteristics can also influence color saturation too.

Also, it is helpful if you include brand name and model number of the device for which you are requesting help.

All my pictures that I either print out or scan coming out purple. When I looked inside I noticed that the long white light has a purple light coming out of it. Can this be repaired or do I need a new...

I would see if you could clean the light- however if the led for your printer's lightsource is showing up purple when it is supposed to be white... you may need to see about an RMA if in warranty or a new printer.

When I print the picture has a purple haze in it ?

If you are using re-manufactured ink tanks, that would explain it, a mi-matched ink tank. To clarify the ink colour is not quite right.

If genuine ink tanks (Recommended) then maybe try different paper. If using photo paper you should be using compatible / genuine paper as the different chemicals react can give this problem.

If using fax / standard paper then could be print head fault....normally get an error code.

When printing pictures, they are discolored

You are running low on your color ink cartridge. It cannot mix the primary colors right anymore and the color images start getting a pink-purple tinge to them. Get a new set of cartidges and install them and this should fix the problem fine. Hope this helps.

Picture prints have no yellow, purple tint

I've solved this with multiple head cleaning. I cleaned the print heads 7 or 8 times and it's working ok again now.

To clean your print heads do the following:

  1. On your computer, start the KODAK AiO Home Center.
  2. If the Help toolbar is not open, click the Help (?) icon in the upper-right corner of the window.
  3. From the Help toolbar, select Maintenance.
  4. Click Printhead Cleaning, and wait for the printer to complete the cleaning.
hope this helps
