Failed backplane power supply, and or failed lamps are the most common cause.

Tv may not be grounded properly ?

That is an LCD television. The only thing that needs to come on in the form that you are talking about is the back light.. These are tube lights that are behind the screen off to the sides of the lcd. They are controlled by a device called the inverter. So the problem sounds like the back light is bad especially if the picture has a yellow or orange tint to it.

My Element 32 inch tv has black screened.

hope I dont sound too crude, but have you checked the contrast and brightness controlls ?? they may be labled as 'picture options' or some other odd label...

does this tv have a LED, LCD or the older CTR display ?? If it is LED or LCD, then the light source that illuminates the screen are not working.. this light source could be damaged..

Toshiba tv problems with sound no video

usually means your screen has gone. if its an old brick like the old tvs, then its your tube thats gone.
if you felt confident enough you can open the tv up (if its under warrenty do not touch it and get it fixed by the supplier)
if its an lcd tv, check to see if the backlight comes on when you turn the tv on, to do this, (better in the dark) turn the tv on at night, if the screen lights up but no picture, it could be the motherboard. if it doesnt light up then its for sure your screen.lcd tvs have a history of these faults, replacements though are not cheap. if you can fix it yourself, do so.

Sasui LCD

Take a strong flashlight when the set is on and shine the light into the screen see is you have a picture as it may be the backlight. If the screen lights with no picture its a pcb board problem. Please verify your model number and I will try and assist you.

Sony WEGA 42" LCD TV

If these are oth LCD projection have them looked at. The light engine will need to be relaced and has an extended warranty on some models for this case. Call Sony with the serial and model to verify and they can tell you in your area who is a qualified Sony servicer. Circuit City can handle these if they are covered by the light engine warranty.
