So sorry, but the repair will cost more than the price of a new fridge, judgeing by the age of the fridge, it's time for a new one. they don't make them like that anymore, that was a common problem back then.

Im looking at buying an LG fridge with the double doors and freezer on the bottom. It also has the ice machine and water hook ups but it needs a gas refill how much will that cost?

I wouldn't buy any modern fridge that needs a gas refill. Needing a refill means that it has a leak. Modern fridges are 'sealed unit' compressors and should NEVER leak. If they do then there is a leak, often in the evaporator coils inside the fridge and commonly between the copper to aluminium joins. These leaks would need to be repaired however most piping is not easily accessible. Cost may be $100 to $300 for re-gas plus repair $$$ and unless the leak was located and repaired then you will be re-gassing again in days, weeks or months.
LEAK needs FIX LEAK and re-gas.

Water leaks at bottom of fridge

The same thing happened to me then I noticed ice had formed at the bottom of our fridge. It was covering a drain hole so water was leaking out the front of fridge instead of going to the drain pan or wherever the hole goes. After I chipped out the ice and cleared the hole with warm water the leak stopped. I also fixed another leak coming from bottom of fridge caused by a loose brass connection on water line going to the door.

LG LRBC20512SW - line icing up to compressor - loosing gas

You may be able to hear the leak but the chances you'll see it are slim to none. Also if it's a bad leak the freon could all be gone now. Usually when a unit is low on gas the compressor will short cycle. Otherwise your unit might just need a good thorough defrost. If the compressor is running and not short cycling my money's on the defrost.

Amana, bottom freezer, freezer not freezing and then refrigerator not keeping cool.. help Started with the ice maker not making ice, the sound of trying to pull water but never any ice. Then the freezer,...

Hi
Firstly put off the refrigerator before the compressor burns off.
The problem is simple... the coling gas has leaked out.... put new coolong gas...BUT only after finding the place of leak... this will be needed to be fixed first.

Punctured a hole in the freezer compartment

That type of damage is usually fatal to the unit. It is difficult if not impossible to repair in most cases depending on the metal used to make the evaporator, and what kind if equipment the repairman has. You can't fix this yourself, consult a local repairman, explain what happened, and the model of the unit, and ask if repairable what it might cost. Or just buy a new one. And NEVER use sharp objects in an effort to remove frost buildup. Turn it off, put your stuff in a cooler, and use a heat source such as a bucket of hot water in the unit with the door closed

Water leak in ice maker tube

Hi, Make sure the inlet tube has no restrictions. Sometimes ice will start to form inside the inlet tube and cause pressure so the hose leaks. If this does not help. you might need to change the change the inlet tube

Leaking freezer into fridge

Hi, What has happened is that the drain hole in the freezer has frozen up and the defrost water is dripping into the fresh food area.
Remove the floor panel and the rear fan cover in the freezer and you see the ice that is blocking the drain.
Be carefull when removing the ice. DO NOT use a sharp object. The best way is to use a hair dryer.
Once you locate the drain hole, you will need to melt the ice down in the drain hole too. For this, you can use the hair dryer or poor a few glasses of hot water (sopping up the water between each glass).
What you will need to do after the drain is open is to put an after market drain heat transfer kit on to prevent this from reaccuring.
Please let me know if this is the case and I can get you the right part# or even send you the part.

Ice & water dripping in refrigerator

Seems that you now have to little gas in the fridge.Somewhere on your apparatus there should be a factory tag where it should be info on amount of gas, prod date etc and also which type of gas to fill.
Other thing as fan not running properly, door gaskets leaking can lead to Ice build up.
High humidity and water all over inside fridge.Gas filling procedure.Make vacum(vacumpump)Fill in correct weight (grams or oz)of gas.Anyhow when you must fill gas there is usually a leak in your system and to find that i use liquid nitrogen. For this serviceman is the best option.
