Hi Jay

Ok take of the top cover by unscrewing it from the sides and bottom.

Then check on the board that has the AC inlet on it for the fuse.

Projector suddenly went unresponsive

open the bulb assembly and check if the bulb has fused / broken into pieces.if not then the ballast unit that powers the bulb is at fault and needs replacement
if the bulb has fused/broken , then probably the bulb that u had replaced 3 months back wasnt genuine!

Projector is completely nonresponsive. Almost like it has no power. No lights on, etc. Yes, power cord is plugged in.

There is an internal fuse that may have blown. I urge caution however, as this fuse does not open without a reason. It is possible that a power supply problem is preventing the unit from starting up as well. Usually though, this would show at least a standby light. Unless you have previous experience with the repair of similar units, I would not suggest any attempts now. There are potentially dangerous voltages present inside these machines.

Please update this if there are any sympoms at all when you attempt to power up the unit.

Unit not powering up. New lamp installed but

a couple of things did you reset the lamp timer? Sometimes if the panel door lamp is open or not closed you will not be able to power up. Have you tried removing the lamp and reseating it? Perhaps the fuse is will need to remove the cover and look to see. fuse should be located in the area of where you plug the power cord again you will need to remove the power cord.

Unit will not turn on

did you turn it off or unplug it? not to sound too obvious, but make sure it's still plugged in properly and the switch is on. if the led is lit on the top, it's getting power, so it's not the fuse. if not, the fuse is located on the power supply board inside the projector. if the led is lit and the fans don't turn on, it still may be a power supply problem. if the fans go on and not the lamp, could be the lamp, ballast, or main board. if you need to send it in for repair, try av solutions in ny. they're really good.

PLC-SW30 Multimedia Projector no power

You have a classic temp sensor problem. Its a fail safe on the projector, basically a fuse that bridges the main power cables. Looks like a little pot, With a white ceramic head.
Now what it does, Is the white ceramic head rises as the unit gets hotter, and thus breaks the power circut. All you need to do is, open up the unit, locate the sensor (its mounted next to the lamp on your projector) And push the little white head back down, thus closing the circut, and restoring power supply.
Here is the full repair schematic to guide you. :)

Sanyo LCD Projector

Hi smnheffernan

If there is no LED's switching on , then you can definitely rule out the lamp.

Try opening up the unit by taking out all the screws at the bottom and taking of the top cover.

Then repalce the fuse that is on the Powersupply Board ( the one that has the AC socket on it )

If the problem there after still exists , you will have to replace the Powersupply Board.

Hope this is of help and thanks for using Fixya !

No power to unit.

earth5worker was on point. If there seems like there is absolutely no power going into your projector, take off the six screws (will need a very thin long screw driver), and pull off the silver cover (use a flat screw driver to pry open the side that has the clip which is holding the cover together. Press in a small red button in which is located by the lens. Put the cover back in, six screws, plug power and catch the Wildcard football games baby!! Wow I feel so good right now. Thanks for passing this info guys. P.S. Do not remove or unscrew the lamp compartment as I did, just a waste of time.

No power

No Power "Whatsoever"
I Followed all the instructions in aarrowgant post
when I got to the fuse I removed it and checked it with
my ohm meter, and guess what it was not blown!!!
I used a can of gas duster to blow out unit.
I reassembled the projector except for the top of case and
plunged it in "No Power" I disconnected The power
There is however a small thermal switch I Noticed mounted
on the front of the lamp housing only accessible with the case
top off, It has a small red plastic reset button on it. I dusted
this off and pushed it. pluged it back in and the power light came on followed by the projector powering up. I reinstalled the top and mounted projector back on ceiling. Working fine now 48 hrs.
This entire proceeure took me 2 1/2 hours and cost me nothing.
Good Luck,
