When is try to set oven to a temp, it will only register 150 degrees. I don't know if this is because kids may have accidentally set something or what. no matter what setting I use, I cannot get oven to accept setting over 260 degrees without convection, 230 with convection.

Its possible that the unit is set for Celsius degrees rather then Fahrenheit. althoug i didnt get full model number heres a link to a booklet explasining how to switch if needed, if this isnt for your model either check your owners guide or supply me with the entire model and ill lokk up for you. page 11 is where the F/C is explained

It is normal for the thermal device to turn on and off. Obtaining a steady temp is not always possible. When setting a temperature on some ovens, they have what is called a tolerance point. That means a set temperature has a range of a few degrees up or down. At the Down point, the oven is triggered to energize the coils and bring the interior of the oven back to the settings desired. The other factor is opening the oven and allowing cool air to enter, or in some cases a leaking door seal allows air to enter and heat to escape.
The fact that top oven is 100degrees less than bottom is no relation between the two; they are controlled by independent stat controls and if the only way you know if the temp is correct, is to set a temp (such as 350 degrees) and put a thermometer in that oven to see if the thermometer is with in 25degrees of the control settting. You need to do this for the bottom oven as well to see if it is aslo within 25degrees of the setting. then you make adjustments for each unit independently. If the controls are mechanical (knob), then the adjustment is within the control (usually by removing knob and serching for a small screw). If the controls are electroonic, then you need to search the circuit board to see if there is adjstments mounted on the board. Goodluck,Macgivor
There is a calibration method to adjust the oven thermostat plus/minus 35 degrees if it is a digital display. The method varies depending on the model range. This calibration method is used to adjust the thermostat if it is not keeping proper tempature. For example if you are setting the oven to 350 and the actual temp it is keeping is 325 then you could use the calibration method to adjust it plus 25 degrees to correct the temp. Just so you know electric ovens will keep a pretty even temp but gas ovens will vary by 40 or more degrees to keep an "average" temp. For example the burner will come on when the oven is 330 degrees and turn off at 370. 330+370 then divide by 2=350. So a oven thermometer may not show you the temp you set it at in a gas oven but does not mean the oven temp is off.
I would make sure that the conversion kit was the correct kit for your stove. Also, if it is not heating properly I would call the gas company and tell them the conversion did not work and they need to double check their work (at no charge). If everything is in order proceed to the next step below.
You can try removing the Oven Temp control. There is an adjustment on the knob which will vary the temp + or - 75 degrees F or so.
Procedure: Preheat your oven for 350 degrees F. Give it a good 1/2 hour to 45 minutes and then pull the knob off (usually held on with a set screw) You will need a thermometer that will go up to 500 degrees (I use an electronic one but you can use any kind as long as it is within the ovens temp range. If the oven is underheating simply turn the oven control stem to a higher setting, say a 50 degree incrament. Wait another 1/2 hour and measure temp inside oven. Keep in mind when you open the oven door it affects recovery time, etc so 30 minutes between a measurement and adjustment should suffice. Once you have adjusted the temp control to your target temp of 350 degrees look on the back of the knob and see if there is a stop adjustment. There is a chance the temp control knob could be setup differently but the same philiosphy/procedure will be similar.- the adjustment could be on the stem itself instead of the knob.
Also keep in mind that the oven temp will fluctuate from high to low as it tries to adjust to the temp it is set at. That is why it is very important to give the oven time to cycle low to high when you incrament the temp control. Hope this helps and good luck! Gary
