Question about Printers & Copiers

I can not print from my computer. The printer works fine but the connection doesn't seem to be there when I want to print something from the computer.

Look on monitor down near clock and see if there is anything still in your printer memory

My X2550 works fine until I log on remotely to work. I have manage to get it to finally print but it only does so when I then log off remotely to work my printing then comes out any ideas how to change...


A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer (if USB connected)> reboot your pc > unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer (if USB connected). Then try to print again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection or when the WiFi light on the printer turns solid green (if WiFi connected.).


If that doesn't help, try the steps below:

  1. Disconnect the USB cable connecting the printer from your computer.
  2. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.
  3. Delete the Lexmark print object.
  4. Reboot computer.
  5. Re-brick your printer by pulling out the power supply - black box where the power cord is plugged into on the back of the printer, and re-plug after 30 seconds.
  6. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to the computer.
  7. Wait until your computer fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the list, try to print a document to verify that the problem is fixed.

You may also try to update your printer driver by visiting the Lexmark website at http://bit.ly/tzBulE. Select your operating system, download and execute the file.

The printer doesn't print when you tell it to from the computer. When you mess with the buttons, then it will sometimes print a day later.


Its not a net work printer, they how you are connected this printer for all computers & laptops?. It might be connected to one system from there its shared..right. In this situation if any computer fired print command it has to reach the local computer where printer connected. If the local computer shut down, printer unable to print due to no print command.. or else if any net work related issue with in your systems you wont get prints.. Find out were you are stuck. If printer is printing well from the local system you cannot suspect the printer. Just you start from local system, then check in all systems. Pl get back to us for further remedies..best of luck..

At the end of a set of labels, my 400 jammed so I had to take off the front section to clear the jam. When I loaded new Dymo labels, it now doesn't print. Not sure if when I took off the front...

Lexmark X4650 prints fine & used to scan to computer, now when press scan>scan to computer>downloading application list & seems to freeze.

My Printer Lexmark X4580 will not scan. I get the following message-Cannot retrieve Application List. Printing and copying works fine.

Reboot your computer. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer. Try to scan again.
If that doesn't help, try to reinstall the printer software on your computer. This will help repair any corrupted files necessary for scanning or printing.

I have an epson stylus TX110 and it was printing fine today, but then as is sent a job from adobe it prepared to print (made usual noises) but then didnt take any paper and just went quiet. I've tried...


Try purging your temp files. If it's a usb connection try a different usb port. Since it can print from scan and do a test nozzle print then it's not getting data from the pc to the printer. If a different port doesn't work either, and if purging your temp files doesn't work try it on a different computer if possible. You may need to reinstall the driver for it.

oh and make sure you don't end up with one of those 'oh duh' moments :) ... check both ends of the cable to make sure it didn't become loose or unplugged :)

I have installed HP 1220c printer on windows 7 in several ways. Printer seems istalled OK, when I try to print test page or other, the printer doesn't react. Although the print appears and dissapears...


Unistall any previous you have installed for your device.

The Driver for Your Product Is Included in the Windows 7 Operating System (i.e. Win 7-32bit & 64bit).
Simply connect the printer to your computer with a USB cable, and Windows Update automatically installs the driver for your product.

If its a USB printer, try pulling the USB cable out and reinserting it again.

Paper jam


I have had this problem, and have became very furiated.

Clear the Jam by removing and paper you see in from the rear access door.
If you are printing something from a PDF website....... make sure to have it still in the printer schedule.... It will still say printer jam..... but have it there regardless if its something you dont want to have to retype into the pdf form........ After that simply restart your computer. It should resume printer as soon as your computer boots up.....

Worked for me..... Hope this helps everyone else whos probably cursing your printer at the moment!!!!
