I am having the same problem. The configuration app shows that the correct device is playing, but there is no sound, except for a constant thumping on the bass.

Ue boom connected to pc but is not playing music... if i get lucky i get muffled sounds play back, how do i fix this

Q: What should I do if the audio is distorted or drops out on my UE BOOM?

A: Audio distorted or dropping out when streaming to UE BOOM
If you're having trouble with audio distortion or drop-outs on your UE BOOM, try these suggestions:
  • Move the audio source closer - it might be out of the range of your speaker.
  • Move away from other sources of wireless signal - you could be experiencing interference.
  • Make sure your speaker has enough battery power (connect it to a power source with the supplied adapter).
  • Adjust the volume on both the audio source and your speaker.
  • Restart both your speaker and the audio source.
  • Re-pair your device with your speaker (see, "How do I pair additional Bluetooth® devices with my speaker?").
  • If you're using two UE BOOM speakers (for Double Up), try disconnecting and streaming to one speaker only.
NOTE: If you're streaming audio content from the internet, the issue could be with the internet connection and not your speaker.

I downloaded the audio drivers for my p4p800-vm asus motherboard .....says there are no conflicts but i still cant hear any sounds....speakers are working properly and nothing is muted

Play some music then get some headphone and try the audio ports with a green ring. See photo

http://atr.k12.hi.us/tutorials/tutorials/sound/images/ssintegrated.jpg

Sometime the audio is only working via the audio ports located on the front of the computer case. Other times it only works via the audio ports on the back of the case where all the connectors are located.

No sign of life in external notebook speakers

  1. If the powerlight is turning on some times and off sometimes, Then it may be a problem with the powersupply connected to the speakers. Check it.
  2. If the speakers are on and are not playing, Then try playing some music through alternate source like ipod, walkman etc.If the speakers are playing with alternate music source, The try reinstalling the audio drivers of your note book.
  3. If not then your speakers might have fried up due to some reason.

Trouble with Speaker 5.1 +Vista + Asus P5k Motherboard. No Rear Speaker sound

Hi Perseo,

If you run through a speaker test in windows, and hear playback from all 5 speakers and the subwoofer, then your system is correctly connected, and working properly.

Vista uses a layered sound system that renders sound a bit differently than what you're used to on your previous system. As a result, it will most often refuse to project stereo sources in 5-channel surround, on it's own. it will just play them as stereo, and the bass will fill in whenever it can.

One possible way you could use to get around this, is to force the system to use all 5 speakers, through the driver. If you're using a realtek onboard card anything like mine (I have a p5k-VM board myself), this can be done by opening up the HD Audio Manager, and selecting the "Speaker Fill" option, under the Speaker Configuration" tab.

another option would be to load your media player you use to play music or movies, and see if there's an option to change speaker settings within the programs.

hope this helps!

Surround center speaker does not work

This is a 5.1 (6 Channel Technology) You should hear only the voice thro the center speaker. If the source you are playing is stereo, however the software splits the source its difficult to seprate the voice track, if the source is a DTS 5.1, then you should hear the voice only thro the center speaker. eg: when you play a DVD movie which is DTS 5.1 then you should hear only the voice track in the center speaker, if the dvd movie is just stereo then you will not hear any audio in the center speaker, while the other four speakers get output, this is the special effect in 5.1 ( 6 channel Output).
