Try this. Plug in your camera, close any photo wizards or programs that pop up, then click on "my computer" and see if you can view your camera in there. If you can, double click on it and open any folders that are there. If you see any pics then you can copy and paste them where ever. If not unplug camera, that some pics, then try it again.

Nikon Coolpix P150 camera wont allow me to transfer photos to my Windows 7 laptop?

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

I want to upload pictures from my camera to the computer

You need a cable, wich means that you have it already in your box, or you can buy it from any electronic store for less than $10. when you buy the cable plug it in the computer than the other side of the cable to the camera. And install the CD that came with your camera so your computer could recognize it, After you finish those steps you can upload it easely. Hope this Helped you.

Camara will not power up even with new batteries? Just stopped working while wife was shooting at daughtes birthday pary.

If the product is within the year, warranty would apply especially when you consider cost for out of warranty repair. From your description the problem is more likely the systems control board, "the brains of the camera"

Switched to Picassa instead of Wizard and for some reason it downloaded photos and videos. So I obviously had the wrong program to download from the camera.

Computer won't recognize when camera is plugged in

If you open My Computer, do you see the camera listed under removable devices?
If so, you have some choices:
You can double-click on the camera icon to open a folder to see the files, and copy them to the computer.
If you want to use the camera software to copy the file, right-click on the camera icon and move the mouse over Open with -- your camera software should be there.
To try to get the computer to respond to you plugging in the camera the way it used to, you can right-click on the camera icon, then choose Properties, then Autoplay and choose the program or action to start when it is plugged in.
Hope this helps.

Computer Freezes when Connecting Camera

Re-install your software for the camera.

No file should make the computer stop, unless that computer is too old, and does not have enough memory.
This could be a computer memory problem, meaning not enough memory to handle the big files.
No, the usb should be fine.

take care

Can't download pics to laptop

Try (this link works with Internet Explorer, may give trouble with Firefox). The software probably isn't necessary--if you have Windows XP or later your computer should recognize the camera and enable you to download pictures with Windows File Explorer when you plug it in with the USB cable, or better yet save your batteries and get a cheap memory card reader--I got one new on eBay for $10 that works fine. Once you move the pix from your CF card onto the computer you can use any free photo editing software, like Adobe Photoshop Album to work with your photos.
