Whirlpool GGW9868KQ3, Sensing light goes on when start is pressed and nothing happens. Timer counts down but no heat and the drum does not spin. I replaced the control board and that did not fix the problem, the same technician who told me the board was bad also said the belt switch was not working, so I have little faith this will fix it either. I wish the technician would have just told me he did not know as opposed to lying to me. A & E in San Diego, don't call them, they will take the service call money and tell you to buy a new appliance...

you need to have the thermal swith replace one of the causes is if the air duck or vent is restricted or block.

The thermal fuse is the most common problem that can cause this. If you remove your bottom panel (2 1/4 inch screws) and then your lint duct (the area where your lint screen sits) you will see a white peice of plastic with 2 blue wires going to it behind the lint duct. That is your thermal fuse. A continuity meter can quickly be used to check to see if it is bad. If it is bad, replace it and re-install your lint duct then run you dryer on air dry (if you run it with heat, you could burn your replacment fuse out). Then go to the vent on the outside of your house. You should be able to feel a good deal of air pressure on your hand. If not, check the hose behind your dryer for kinks or being crushed (not uncommon even on "professional" instalations. If that is ok, you will need a cleaning for the house part of your vent.
