Since it uses an analog signal to get the tv channels, it won't be able to find any, you may be able to buy an adapter for it to convert the signals otherwise I would upgrade to a new one. Is the back cracked at all or anything that would hold it on broken?

Please update me and I will get back to you asap

Thank you

For PARTS information and Ordering, please call 1(800)-962-2746.

yes it will still be analog unless they have some kind of adapter for it to change the signal from digital to analog, the stand may be able to be fixed by superglueing back on or buying a replacement too. the above number is for casio who can send you the replacement parts. Have your model number ready when you call and good luck

Let me know if you need anything else, I will be glad to help

First of all, you can get a replacement antenna without too much difficulty. You will just have to match the diameter and tip. Yes the set will stop functioning once the cutover occurs in February 2009. At that time the broadcasts will be fully digital and the analog tuner in your unit will no longer work.

This unit receives the signals directly inside the box, not through an external antenna connection so there is no way to utilize a converter without modifying the TV. Realize that these converters are not likely to be portable, at least at the beginning.

There should be a screw just below where the antenna comes out of the set. Take this screw out and the entire antenna base should come out. You will need to match this part. The length of the antenna is not critical. This part is.

The antenna can be obtained from any electronics parts supplier. Make sure that you have the diameter measurement available.

As an aside, I would not recommend spending a lot on this as there should be portable sets available soon that can receive the digital signals direct.y

Our fm radio reception sounds like it's being broadcast in an echo chamber. What could be causing that? We live in a rural part of Ohio. Might we need a strongervfm aerial?

You might be picking up a spurious signal (that is being bounced from something) as well as the main signal and your radio is processing both - one signal will be a small fraction of a second behind the other.

When this happens to a tv signal it manifests as on-screen ghosting. This used to be fairly common in the days when tv was transmitted in the vhf band, in spite of highly directional aerials being used.

Many FM aerials are omnidirectional and if that is the type of aerial you are currently using it could be a large part of your problem. I suggest you try a directional aerial with as many reflectors as your local aerial specialist suggests.

The aerial should be mounted at a suitable height to clear nearby buildings and aimed exactly at the transmitter you want to receive. The aerial should also be "polarised" correctly - if the transmitter antenna is horizontal then so should the receiving aerial. If the transmitter uses a vertical polarisation then the receiving aerial should be fitted with the reflectors vertical.

Coaxial cable isn't hugely expensive and so buying good cable won't break the bank. 75 ohm air-spaced double-wrapped might seem overkill for a radio but it is worth the extra as it will lose less signal and more importantly it will collect less noise and interference.

Electric car aerial

Open the bonnet (hood) and prop open with a golf umbrella, remove three bolts holding the wing onto the engine compartment and one bolt in the middle of the door frame (with the door open), you can then pull the wing off enough to be able to remove / change the aerial.
The fixing at the bottom of the aerial unit to a bracket on the wing can be difficult to undo; I just broke it off and fitted the new aerial without the bottom bracket fixing.

Sangean ATS 808A-replacement aerial antenna

The antenna should be available from Sangean, or C.Crane.

To replace the entire antenna, about 6 screws from the back must be removed, and the back also removed.
Or you could replace it at the antenna's "elbow". However, this is almost impossible to do without loosing the 2 tiny washers. If you do loose the washers, the antenna will work, but will be loose, and not stand up and support itself.

Garmin Quest GPS problem

I got the exact same problem and I solved it. The problem was a bad contact between the flipping antenna and the unit.
On the back of the unit, removed the two screws on the right side, beside the flipping antenna.
Take care there is a spring that can fly away.
Remove the part that was holded by the screws.
Removed the flipping antenna (pull on right slowly).
On the antenna connector on the unit, there is a ring. That ring was loose.
Tight it.
Put every thing back.

It solve the problem on my Quest 2.
