Question about Bose LifeStyle 5 Series-III CD Shelf System

1 Answer

No sound I purchased my system in 2001. Have never moved it since purchase. I have never had a problem with it until today. I inserted a disc but got no sound. Checked radio, tape, etc. and also got no sound. Disc is turning, so it is not the motor. I appreciate any insight you can give.

My CD turns, however no sound. Is there a fuse to the power unit.

I have unplugged all power sources. Some times when switching on power unit, I get a POP, than that is all.

Do you have sound from the headphone outlet? If yes, then it could be a known problem on the model 5 where it will not switch on the sub.. I have a fix for this, just let me know.

No sound and keeps skipping

Does this happen with any disc or a disc? Playing a contaminated disc can cause heads to get dirty causing above results. Make sure discs are clean when inserted. (Young children can handle discs improperly and get fingerprints and other stuff on discs, resulting in dirty DVD heads) Purchase and use a DVD head cleaning disc. May have to use it a few times initially. Then make sure disc is clean before inserting. Wiping gently with paper towel dampened with water or vodka generally works to remove contaminants. Wipe only the bottom, not the top until it appears shiny.

I need reset my laptop back to factory setting, so i need to know who to format the HHD. how can i do this.

I eally depends on the make of laptop.
Toshiba use F8 for restore, HP F11
Have a look in your manual, it will let you know where the rescue partition is, indeed if it is still intact.

I use it in Bulgaria, where the voltage is 230 V electrical networks linking it with a transformer 220 VAC - 110 VAC - Power 200
The

In DVD mode when inserting a disc - DVD-R disc is ejected and the display code C: 13:71 and the inscription "The disc is dirty". I use brand new discs, but all over again. I do not know what the problem - please help me.

WON'T PLAY CD'S READS "NO DISC"

  • Check the disc you're using for scratches and dirt. If the disc is damaged it won't play properly, regardless of the CD player's ability to function. You can use a CD repair device like the "Disc Doctor" to repair the CD or purchase a new CD.

  • Clean the laser lens with a CD laser lens cleaning disc. CD laser lens cleaning discs can be purchased at most electronics retailers or online. Insert the laser lens cleaning disc and follow the instructions.

  • Insert a correctly-formatted, undamaged disc into your player. Listen to see if it begins to read the disc. If it continues to make no sound and gives you the same message, then the problem is probably that your disc is not spinning in the device.

  • Clean the lens while the DVD player is open. A dirty lens is most likely the cause of your no-disc error. The lens should be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swab.

Pci device drivers are not installed on my system i dnt know how to install. due to this my audio device is not working

Installing Sound/Audio Cards and Drivers Sound or audio cards, whether it is a stand-alone device inserted into an expansion slot or embedded sound controllers in the motherboard, require specific device drivers in order to function and produce sound. This low-level program is responsible for processing the data between the sound card hardware and the operating system.
Most sound cards are bundled with the appropriate installation CD when purchased. This disc contains a database of the manufacturer’s available sound device drivers at the time of purchase and includes the specific driver intended for the card purchased. Most discs have an autorun installation program that prompts users to start installation. Some only provide a database of drivers and let the Device Manager or Add Hardware applications in the operation system perform the task of installation.

If you dont know the type of driver that you have, please check the following link to help you:

    I hope this is helpful.

its going bad, get your data off it soon as you can. FLASH in not forever and it can and will eventually fail.

you may have some luck with recovery software.

most sandisk flash drives ect have a 2 year warranty from purchase date. they do not require proof of purchase.

Kenwood DVD player 5 speaker system

There is nothing wrong with it, it is set to only play in the region it was purchased from. That is how all DVD players are made, with regional settings. No repair is going to help, you just need a DVD player from the proper region to play those disc's.

    System not recognising disc

Is it only happening for this one disk? If so, I'd say it's probably a bad disk. I've ran into a couple of those before. Probably an error in production, I'd suggest taking it back and exchanging it for another copy.

If it's happening to most or all of your games, then it's probably a sign that the laser is going out. You could try cleaning it - get any CD or DVD cleaning kit and follow the instructions. If that doesn't work, you may need to replace the laser. That's a bit more involved, and more expensive, but I can help you with it if it comes to that.
