Question about Mitsubishi WS-55907 55" Rear Projection Television
What do i look for to fixt this it says short in the protect circuit?
Being as this is a Mits projection the most common problem that will give you a 22 error code really has nothing to do with deflection but rather a shorted convergence Ic. If the Ic's short and DO Not take the fuse it loads the power supply and gives a 22 error code. If quick tests of the horizontal output show good it most likely will be the convergence Ic's. Since pulling the fuse out for convergence power also kills voltage for other circuits you have to remove the Ic's and then see if the set will run

That usually refers to either a diode or transistor in the xray protection circuit. There are only about 8 or 9 components that can cause that you will need the service manual to isolate which components make up that protection circuit. If you do have the service info and would like it I can post a link where you can get the mitsubishi service manual emailed to you cheaper than anywhere else on line.

The Error Code designations indicating a malfunction, or no malfunction, are listed below:
"12" ... indicates no error has occurred.
"21" ... X-Ray Protect circuit.
"22" ... Short Protect circuit.
"23" ... Horizontal Deflection failure.
"24" ... Vertical Deflection failure.
you will have to count the blinks, then there is a short pause and then following a second set of blinks this tells what is wrong with set.
