Did you blead out any traped air from the water jaket after changing the thermostat??? and just how hot did thos car engine get??? if it doiled up it may have cooked the head gasket if it has it will keep on over heating and blowing out all the water,

You may have a leaking engine head gasket or a clogged radiator. Do not drive this until the problem is repaired or you will do serious damage to the engine.

I would try flushing heater core to see if it's plugged. I don't think it's waterpump, your rig would be overheating if it was. Leaking is most common waterpump failure.

How do i add coolant

you should be ble to add it to the radeator .where the cap is. if not it maybe where the overflow tank is u put it in there. if car is hot keep it running while you do it if cold then you can just add it.

there should be a bleeder somewhere or have you started it without the cap on that might be what you need to do don't worry it isn't pressurize won't hurt nothing

Thermastate and high heat

Yes i would check if your radiator fin turns on when the engine gets warm.
Most likely thats the cause.

My fan in my 97 honda accord doesnt come on

when turning ac on the fans come on automatically ,sounds like u need to bleed cooling system ,get the air out ,look near goose neck or whre ur top hose goes in and look for a bleeder,fill up coolnat jug and radiator and loosen bleeder when nothing but coolant comes out (no air ) the shut bleeder off,,, if this doesnt help replace thermaste and repeat proceedure

Car suddenly started overheating

this could be cause by the thermastate or the fan could not be working i would replace the thermastate and check fan make sure it is running when the car heats up
