Overlapping maps on a C330

Garmin has released new maps. Most of their units are entitled to a free update if the unit was purchased recently Just a heads up to anyone who recently purchased a C330. According to Garmin's tech support, the map udate 2008 is not free to those of us that recently purchased a C330. Only to those who purchased a C340 and up. Their excuse is that it is a "low end" unit, and also that the memory cannot hold the full US maps on the DVD. Gee, I can purchase the update for $69.99 and load a subset of the maps if I want, according to the person in tech support, but I cannot receive it as a free update. So, apparently buyer beware if you purchase Garmin's "low end" units. You will apparently not be able to receive a free update of maps, even if the unit you buy is already out of date.

MapCreate Topo does not have lake maps. There are 'some' maps on Lowrance's web site (Free Enhanced Lake Maps) but you may need to purchase lake maps on SD cards for the area you're interested in.

There are no free downloads for this particular Garmin product. The new 2010 map is available @ www.garmin.com for $59. I have this same GPS and unfortunaly also had to purchase the upgrade for the map.

The only way you can be assured that your map update was successful is to check the version.
1) On your main screen, you'll have a little wrench tool, click on it.
2) On the next screen, go to the "Map" icon.
3) Next screen, click on the "Map Info"
4) Last screen you'll see the maps isntalled and the year.

I'm not 100% sure but we were told that there isnt' enough memory to hold all the maps in the c330 because the new maps are larger than the memory in the c330. Does it have an area to choose where you can take out Canada? If so then it has enough memory to load the maps minus Canada. Hope it helps you a bit.

These maps are available for purchase from Garmin. Go to www.garmin.com. Click on Automotive, then the StreetPilot C330. Click on Maps, then look for
microSD/SD data card, City Navigator NT Brazil . They are charging $119.99 USD plus tax for this map.

From your Where to?/View map screen press on the box wrench to access the settings menu. Once at the settings menu press Map, then press Map Info and you should see that you have City Navigator North America NT v8 or whichever one is loaded.

3.device manager
4.universal serial bus controller(open the + sign)
5.click upper one double click
6 go to driver
7.click on the update driver
8. then choose second one (advanced) then next
9.click don't search
10.then next next if it is over
