If its locked to AT&T you can just call att at 1-800-288-2747 and give them the imei number which is under the battery and they will give you a FREE unlock code but if its locked to something other than at&t then you might be able to find an unlock code on ebay but you have to purchase it.

Need to unlock a Z300a is by cinglar..don't have cables so need to do it by software only
There can be many ways to Unlock your phone. As far as i know unlocking by codes is the simple and safe way. I will suggest the website Unlock-Zone.com which is doing good service and they were recommended highly in the cell phone forums.
I used them to unlock my cell phone. contacted them and within 30 mins i had my unlock code and my phone was unlocked.

How to unlock z300a cell phone
Hi luisacalo,
Unlock codes can be only provided by your service provider , so you need to call your service provider and give your IMEI number , and they will provide your unlock code.

you may try the following tips.....
Warning: Do not enter any wrong unlock unlock codes on your Sony Ericsson Z300A mobile phones. If you enter over a certain amount of wrong unlock codes on your mobile phone, your phone may get hard locked and sometimes become unusable.

1 - Switch ON your Sony Ericsson Z300A mobile phone without any SIM Card,
2 - Press the left arrow key/button once,
3 - Press the button * twice,
4 - Press the left arrow key/button once,
5 - The message "Personalize with MNC2" will appear,
(or you will have displayed an unlock menu, select the lock you want to unlock)
6 - Enter the Unlock Code.

If your Sony Ericsson Z300A mobile phone does not have a left arrow button/key(e.g. Sony Ericsson W950i) and on a few phones(not all) that have a "JOGDIAL" you must press the "down arrow" key/button instead of the "left arrow" key/button for step 2 & 4. We mean by "Down Arrow" to direct the Jogdial down! In the Sony Ericsson W950i and some other models, the down arrow button/key would be located on the side of the phone.
