It has only some shared video memory onboard, so it won't be replacing.
The information i can find tells that the motherboard features an AGP-port, so you can just buy an AGP video card and place put it in the agp port on your computer.

AGP is a port on your motherboard. You'll have to open your computer.
Take a look at this image. As indicated the port on top is the AGP (it's not always the same color). *********** also contains several PCI ports (he ports in the middle).
There are also some graphics card for PCI-port, but AGP is a port only for graphics, and it is a faster connection than PCI.

You can use PCI-port for graphics card, yeah.
But you need to buy a PCI-card then.
If you are not experienced, you might want to ask someone who has done it before, because you don't want to scratch you motherboard. Probably there is someone you know who has some experience with it. Anyway, be careful!

    Hope this was of help.

I have on my emachines G620 videocard GeForce 9100m G,can i replace it for some better videocard?

No, that video chip is an integrated one - part of the northbridge chip - so it cannot be replaced . Also there are no slots for video cards inside your laptop so no way to add another one.

I have an Emachine with Integrated NVIDIA GeForce 6100 (graphics up to 128 MB of shared video memory)Video card, was wondering what video card should i get to upgrade for either a s-video out or HDMI to...

You can purchase a new graphics card and install no problem. Dont use S-Video tho, as the quality is not good. HDMI graphics cards are much cheaper these days.

Stay with Nvidia, as the onboard chip for your PC would support this better.

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2400

It is not possible to replace a graphics card on a laptop. The video chip is part of the motherboard and most likely the fix is a replacement motherboard.
How do you know it is a video card fault? If could just a back-light problem. Please follow my instructions to determine the fault and possible fix - click on this link :-

Self Test Check Your PC & Signal Cable Monitor Is Working''

ok the only 2 ways to verify is first hook up your monitor up to another pc and verify that the monitor works and the 2nd method is to get a video card and try it and order for the other card to work the onboard video card must be disabled in the bios by hittinf f1,del,f10 or if you are uncomfortable with this take your pc to a repair shop and let them check it out
Pls take time to rate this solution

Repairing ATI graphics cards!

I've never known anyone who repaired a video card. As far as I know, that's not possible--with the exception of replacing the fan on cards with a fan.

I have no idea just why you believe the card is "broken," but if you let me know just what the problem is, I'll sure try to help you further.

PCI socket on 4 yr old emachine

Here are the specs to your machine:
click the specs tab. It seems you have only PCI slots in thos machine, so you cannot use an AGP card (the other type you may have seen). Video cards are clearly marked PCI or AGP.
Does this machine not have a built in video port already? Or do you just want to upgrade?

Dell computers are hard to upgrade.

hi will

yes these cards uses a lot of power. Check to see if the power supply pushes enough power to run the video card. I think these card needs its own power source so make sure you use a sepearate cable from the powersupply to the video card and not share it with other components.

if you have less than 400w powersupply thne this is morelikely your problem

good luck
