I'll have to look this up to be 100% sure, but I believe that this message occurs when the unit can not complete its startup sequence. Usually this is because the CD unit is stuck. If that is the case, the mechanism may need an upgrade. There was an engineering change to these mechanisms to prevent it from getting out of timing. Try unplugging this for a couple of hours and trying again. Update this with your results. In the meantime, I'll look up your specific model to see if it requires the modification.

F61 will not come on

Hi,
F61 is an error code that shows amplifier output chip is defective and need to be replaced in Panasonic SC-AK640 unit.
Amplifier output chip replacement requires soldering work and local repair shop will do this job as it is not user level repair.
Hope these info will help you.
Let me know if you have additional question.
Thanks.

I suggest you Google Panasonic on your computer and pose your problem to them. They will tell you what the code means and what needs to be done about it to make the stereo work properly.

I have a panasonic cd stereo system SA-AK640 that will not operate properly and is showing the error code F61

This is an indication that the output amp pac(s) have a problem. Expect a parts cost in the range of $25-$45. Add in the local labor rate for the full repair cost.

I have a CD STEREO SYSTEM SC-AK640

Usually the problem here is the output amp pac(s). Without takeing a few measurements, I can't tell you which ones. Also, can you please check the model number, I can't find a listing for the one you posted.
Thanks,
Dan
