I have a 2000 s500 Mercedes Benz i was trying to tap into the radio with a aftermarket radio and loss all power

Whereever you bought this radio should have had a fit guide for your car, a lot of early 2000's s500 Mercedes Benz will not allow you to change the radio, not saying your model won't just that a lot of them won't.
Go back to where you bought it and ask TO SEE the fit manual.

Loss of radio settings and stored data- All cars and trucks

You can avoid losing radio setting and putting the radio into theft lock when changing a battery by using a 9 volt settings saver, they are avail from Walmart in the Auto parts and accessories section, they are made by a company called NOCO.

Just bought a used truck it is a 1995 full size chevrolet it has a theft lock radio but does not work, the radio will not show any display not loc r lock there is a button u push it will show u the time...

If the clock will display for a few seconds that means it,(the clock) has power, and perhaps the entire unit. However, if the anti-theft is engaged, a dealer will be in your future. It will take them about a minute to un-lock the radio, or they will know if the radio no longer works.

SEC appears on the radio Lexus ES300

SEC stands for security, the radio is in theft lock you must enter the unique code security that came with the car when new to unlock the radio, this SEC is triggered whenever the radio losses power like a theft or a battery disconnect. If you don't have this unique code you must see the Lexus dealer, they can look it up in the factory information link, it goes by the serial number of the radio and the VIN or the car.

If I disconnect the battery to reset the check engine light, will I need to reset the code on my radio? If so, where do I get the code since I bought the car used.

If you have a radio that is "anti-theft", you will need to enter the radio code after a sustained power loss. You can find the radio code in the owners manual. If you don't have the owners manual, you will need to contact a new car dealer with your vehicle information.

Why would a 2003 Chevy Impala's speakers not work? The radio and CD player work, but I get no sound what so ever. The car was bought used in 2009 and the radio has never worked. I was told that something...

This may be a anti-theft issue. If it is and you want it fixed, the Chevy Dealter is probably the best place to have this work done, IF it can be done at all. My Chevy radio instructions tell me that if there is a genuine power loss to the radio when the anti theft system is activated (like someone breaking into the car and stealing it, cutting the wires) that the radio will not work again with out GM intervention.

Turned car on yesterday, radio would not turn on, bought car used and did not receive an owner's manual.

As to the fuse issue, swap with another fuse of same color/amp rating.Swap fuses one at a time until radio works, usualy a red 15 amp fuse but manufacturers do have a habit of changing things with little or no notice.Unsure wether code would be affected as it should have a constant power source from battery to maintain radios memory.Unless youve disconnected battery fuse should bring it back to life.Good luck and hope not to be too tardy with an answer next time LoL!
