My washing machine is leaking water even with the water shut off and the amchine not running. Is this a drain pipe problem or a oump proplem or another problem?

I PRESUME YOU WAN'T TO REMOVE A OLD WASHING MACHINE,
1. PULL OUT ELECTRICAL SUPPLY PLUG.
2.PULL MACHINE OUT A BIT TO GAIN ACCESS TO BEHIND MACHINE, SOME MACHINES HAVE COLD WATER SUPPLY PIPE ONLY BUT MOST HAVE HOT AND COLD SUPPLY PIPES.
THERE SHOULD BE A SHUT OFF SUPPLY VALVE AT THE SUPPLY SIDE OF THE TWO HOSES, CLOSE THEM BOTH THEN DISCONNECT HOSES, DRAIN HOSE SHOULD JUST LIFT OUT OF PIPE BEHIND MACHINE , NOTE ALL HOSES WILL LEAK SOME WATER ONTO FLOOR IF LAYED DOWN

Did you replace the pipe correctly? The thing you should be asking though is why was the first one burnt out? Is there a connection problem? Maybe the replacement pipe has burnt out as well.

If your machine outlet pipe is connected to the sink trap (many are these days) it could simply be that water from the sink is draining into the washer if it is connected like this ensure that where the outlet pipe leaves the the trap it goes up and does not run level or down if the water in the is dirty this is the problem failing this water vavles are passing water when the machine is off

Remove the bottom kick plate, then the upper plate and run the machine to find the leak.

The drain hose outlet must be located higher that any expected water level in the tub. If too low, gravity drains the tub as it is filled. Extend the (a) drain pipe up to the proper level, even if you are using a floor drain to carry away the water. Hope this helps!

this is a commom proplem and not always easy to figure out. It could just be excess air in the lines or even a kinked line will make the pipe sing. Since your say that know matter where you run the water I would start looking for a kinked pipe or even a lose or missing pipe hanger in the main line.

Make the standpipe longer (the black pipe).

try running the snake from the top to the bottom. they ell pressure hose ends that you inser into the pipe on the end of a hose and when you turn the water on it weslls and applies pressure to push out whatever is in there. they cost about 8.00 and you can buy them at lowes or home depot. just tell them what you need and that it screws onto the end of a hose for unclogging backed up drains. im not sure whats its called but they will know

if the oump is running check the oump for foreign objects in the pump and a stopped up drain hose if you have washed any blankets or rugs lately
