Question about IBM ThinkPad R51 Notebook
Please help. laptop working fine one day next day i get message operating system not found, hard drive not installed, re-install hard drive. how do i re-install hard drive? im not super computer smart and this has blown my mind. thanks for any assistance.
operating system not found
Bad connection from your hard drive to the laptops motherboard. ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/pc/pccbbs/mobiles_pdf/62p9631.pdf page 63 tells you how to remove the hard drive - I would take it out, clean the connections with rubbing alchohol, and FIRMLY put it back and see if it will come up then.

Could be a problem with the MBR or Master Boot Record.
It could be damaged. It's only a file system type problem not a hardware fault.
Have a look here.
