SLOW ACCELERATION I have a 5-speed 2001 dodge stratus rt. When I accelerate, it is slow to gain speed but the engine roars until it takes off and the rpms come back down to normal. Any suggestions?

My 2001 jimmy has a slow and sluggish takeoff and acceleration speed. Wiring harness was melted apart from busted heater core hose.would a bad connection cause this problem.

Usually not. If it is shuddering while accelerating it's usually a plug wire. If you have a check engine light on then start there

Poor idle and no acceleration on a '91 GMC Sierra 1/2 ton p/u w/4.3l v6 manual trans

there is vital information missing here
to start with it is a v 6 so there will be 2--HO2S sensors one for each bank before the cat converter and 2 --O2ensors --one for each bank after the cat converter
there is a vast difference between HO2s and O2 sensors as each reports different information to the ECM
next slow acceleration can be accelerator position sensor or throttle position motor
every time you read the codes it cancels them so you have to run the vehicle for a few miles for codes to reappear
from the codes there can be up to 7 reasons for that code to appear so you don't pick on the first one as it could be another or a combination of others

I have a 2002 Celica GT 5-Speed and I shift at about 4k RPMs when getting on the highway and I still feel I'm accelerating to slow. Am i doing something wrong?

Not driving a corvette? Just kidding. More details are important. How slow is your acceleration? Is it 0-60 in 8 seconds, or 20 seconds? What is redline on your car? If redline is 5K then 4000 is a good responsible shift point. If redline is 8K then shifting at 4000 is probably robbing your engine of it's torque and horsepower band. I believe the GTS model has an 8K RPM redline, the GT may be lower, but in that case, shifting at 4K is too soon for strong acceleration. Your Tachometer should have redline clearly marked. For responsible use, stay below that, maybe 10-20%. For economy stay further still, but for power you need to let the engine use it's RPMS, especially smaller and fewer cylinder engines usually don't make their power until they are half way through the RPM range and above.

Slow acceleration from stop and when driving (trying to pass)

I have the same car. So far no problems with the Transmision. I had the Trans oil change out every 60 K Sure sounds like you need to get the Transmision checked. Is the fault light on. I have invested ina fault code reader sure is worth it.
Good luck.  Vilmos
