I have a JVC Everio GZ-MG130 Camcorder - I transferred videos from the recorder to the computer but before saving to a disk my computer crashed. Is it possible to retrieve the video from the camcorder and...

There are SD card and hard drive recovery programs available on the net, and they often can retrieve the data Go to the following website and pick "photo recovery" to get the right software:
http://www.tech-pro.net/how-to-recover-photos.html

If this doesn't work, there are other programs you can try. Just google "camera hard drive data recovery" and you will find some.
Good luck, and hope this helps.

I have a JVC GZ-HD300 Hard disc video camera and when using Everio Mediabrowser which comes with the camera download to convert my videos the conversion leaves the finished video blurred

Hi.

If the original footage was sharp, that means that you are probably using wrong compression parameter or format on Everio, while doing conversion.

If the source movie was blurred instead, try using the Advanced Image Stabilisation option, usually available in new JVC HD camcorder menu.

Everio has different quality settings. Each time you increase compression you lower quality.

Also ensure that the camera was not in a low definition setting.

Regards.

Ginko.

Downloading my video to my computer i have the jvc 20 gb hdd everio

I have the 30 GB HDD Everio, it came with the USB cable that connects to your computer.

When I connect mine to download my videos I have to have the power cord and connection cable connected and then I open the side viewer, from there you have to wait a few seconds and then the side viewer will connect to the computer and ask you if you would like to "Playback On PC", select "OK" on the side viewer and then a small box will pop-up in the bottom right hand corner of your computer desktop asking you to "Tag" your videos and then click "Import". As a note, the software that the camera came with will pop-up too, but you can close it or minimize the screen to complete your video import.

Let me know if this helps, the two camera's can't be all that different, but you never know.
