When replacing a lens, there is some optical and electronic calibration required.

In your situation, if there is any part of the camera case that was knocked out of shape or slightly bent, then for sure the repair will be too expensive.

A bend or change of a few thousandths of an inch of the case cannot be seen by eye. But with the precision and magnification of the lens, any slight misalignmenet would be visable in the photos.

You should call Canon just to know the cost of servicing the camera. I am sure it will be more than 50% of the cost of a new one.

My new panasonic lumixDMC-ZS8 14.1MP Digital camera gives me system error (zoom) when I turn it on.the lens will not open?

The systems control board has detected a fault wth the lens, over time dirt and grime collect in the len causing havoc, the other concern is the gears have jammed or got damaged, either way it is a major dis-assembly and it will be expensive.

E:61:10

The error e:61:10 signifies a stuck internal lens. Shut it off and tapping it on the side might work. If not you could have it repaired. In that case you may as well buy a new camera. Sorry.

When power on blured screen apear and blured image

1. Try cleaning the lens with a soft dry cloth. Do NOT blow on the lens first. 2. You could be experiencing camera shake - if you are in shutter mode and if your shutter speed is too slow for the light available you get a blurred image.

Keeps on saying zoom error

Hi, you have problem in lens unit maybe the lens gear are damage or misalligned. If you can open your camera and check the lens unit if they need to be replace the damage parts, clean the gear becuase of sand or dust and adjustment only.

if you can't do this bring to service center and request for estimate charge first before proceed to repair.

good luck and thank you my friend

The left side of my pictures are blured.

If it's been like that since Day 1, I'd guess either an improperly assembled lens, or a misaligned CCD in the body. Hopefully it's a warranty fix. If it has recently started, it may be due to impact to lens or body. Fingers crossed for the warranty situation.
