Rca HD61LPW42 -- we just replaced the color wheel. now we get a picture but only for a few seconds. then it turns off and after a few seconds restarts. this goes on indefinitely. a couple of times...

Hello

If the power light blinks slowly,

you've tried to turn on the TV during

the lamp cooldown cycle. Wait

approximately 30 seconds, and the TV
will turn on automatically.

If light blinks, pauses for about a

minute, and blinks again: the lamp is

trying to turn on (TV will turn on

when successful). If TV doesn't turn

on and sequence continues, the lamp also
needs to be replaced.

To order lamp call 1-800-338-0376.

Have your TV serial number

and lamp type available (you'll

find this information on the

sticker that's on the right side of
the TV).
OK.

Sony KDF60xs955 will not power up or turn on I was watching and it just went blank like you had turned it off. I noticed the fans were not running. I have already replaced the bulb with no help.

If you press the power button and the timer light flashes 9 times and you don't hear the fans start up then more than not the thermal fuse has opened up. If it has more than not the fan that sits above the lamp is clogged with dust and will need to be cleaned out before repairs are done. The fuse part number is 1-910-023-93 and then for safety measure replace the lamp fan. Its part number is 1-787-232-11. Please take a few moments to rate my answer. Thanks...

Sound with No Picture

If the lamp hasn't been replaced I would suspect it first. Depending on your full model number of your TV will determine the lamp you need.

Model HDLP61W151YX1 = 260962 LAMP
Model HDLP61W151YX2 = 265103 LAMP

The sticker with the model number will have a service model number that will include the YX! or YX2 at the end of it.

Please take a few moments to rate my answer. Thank you.

TV will not power on.

I guess your TV is DLP.
Please notice the follow symthoms:
When you on TV, did you hear some strange noise from the back of the TV. If yes, the color wheel needs replacing.
If no, check the lamp. Take a look to bottom of lamp, you will see white pot or sometime a pop up there due to lamp cycle is going to end. When changing lamp, check the ballast and power sup, too. If you see caps are poping up. Pull out those board and replace the poped caps.

Lamp Replacement Problems for Hitachi 50V500A

I'll tell you what I tran into and how it got resolved...
I experienced the same problem , with the blinking light...
Purchased a replacement lamp..
It didn't work(After market Universal supposably)..
Well..Come to find out.The Replacement lamp's housing looks similar, but the connecters that come out the back of the housing weren't quite long enough to trigger the microbe that activates the lamp in the Television.
Luckily I had the original lamp and it's housing that came with the television..
Took the bulb out of the new replacement lamp
Placed it in the original housing , and BINGO..It worked and is still working...

No picture

Assuming that the replacement lamp is good, you could be looking at a bad ballast (lamp power supply) or the switch on the lamp door itself could be causing the issue. The light engine also could cause an issue like that. I would have a technician look at it as this is beyond consumer repair.
