I am having problems in sending and receiving faxes.

Comment by elkay5, posted on Aug 04, 2008

I have a Canon Pixma MP780 and it is unable to receive faxes. My phone line has Verizon Voice mail and that might be a problem. I have the fax set on manual receive but when I pick up the phone and there is a fax tone and I push the Start button nothing happens. Am I using the wrong setting for receiving faxes?

the only way to receive fax is to push the startfax-button when an incoming fax is ringing. The menysetting is set to automatic receive and answer after 2 signals.

Can send faxes but not receive them. Have a BT landline & broadband phone.

I hear the fax ringing then I have to push hook, black start and then #2 for receive----can't I have it automatically set to get my faxes? I am missing them if I am away from my desk.
