The touch screen of my unit went in. I found that the 4 litler screw which hold the screen from behind broke. They are tiny and have a piece of plastic. Now everytime that I touch the screen, it goes in. Can somebody tell me how to fix that or where can I get those screws. I've been looking for them but I havent find them.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

you need to open it and check the wires behind the power board sometimes those wires get loose from the solder weld the battery its ok if you have it connected to your car lighter, I had that happen to me so I opened it and found broken solder welds at the end of those wires, it is a very delicate work to get to it but I think that's what it is.
Hello, Omnitech GPS systems are very decent for me. I have 2. There were several reports of GPS problems beginning on or about 11-14 June 2009. This is due to the GPS navigation messages rollover from 255 to 0. Some GPS systems fail to accommodate this behavior; Omnitech is one of them. Staples did provide a firmware update a few days later. There are also other firmware updates available on the net. I personally successfully update the firmware and resolve the problem around June 15, 2009. Otherwise, the problem should go away after 1-2 weeks.
Since the operating system and navigation software are preloaded into the internal flash memory of the GPS, the freezing may either be software or hardware failure. First, press the "Reset" button or push the stylus into the "Reset" hole, to see if the navigation software can load successfully. If the program still does not load, then the software may be corrupted. Also, if the internal memory fails to read or write and the software cannot load properly, it may be caused by hardware failure. In this case you must return the unit for exchange or repair to the retail location from which you purchased it, or contact Nextar for further assistance.
Nextar will not assist in helping "fix" anything. Their solution is for you to send in the unit and they pitch it, send you one off the assembly line. I was able to get this unit working again in just GPS mode (what it was intended for), so using this workaround, you will lose the ability to use it as a tiny digital photo frame, MP3 player, etc. I take no responsibility if you try this and "brick" your unit (render it unusable except as a $100 paper weight). BACK UP!!
1) Download and install ActiveSync from the Micro$oft website.
2) Connect the M3-04 unit to your computer
3) Turn it on
4) Red bar should fill and the M3-04 will "hang" in that screen, BUT viola it still connects to ActiveSync
5) Using Explorer from ActiveSync, navigate to ResidentFlash
6) Copy autorun.inf to your PC Desktop, make backup by renaming it to autorun.bak
7) Open autorun.bak with Notepad
8) Change the line to read without the quotes: "\ResidentFlash\Netropa Intellinav\IntelliNav.exe"
9) Save As to your desktop autorun.inf
10) Copy back to your ResidentFlash directory on the M3-04
11) Disconnect from PC and hit the reset button on back....BOOYA! Your GPS is functioning again.
I just opened up a Nextar 14-BCT GPS unit and found the inner side of the ribbon cable is cracked. This unit has the exact same freeze on load screen as you do, so try looking inside, you may need the LCD ribbon cable or both LCD and LCD ribbon cable for your unit to function normally again.
Hi, Here is how to reset your device..
1- Turn off unit. 2- press and hold the bottom right corner of the screen. 3-While still pressing and holding bottom right corner, press and hold power button and continue holding both until a white screen appears with a black dot. 4- follow the on screen directions and your unit will be back to the day you first got it. If this helps you plz rate this 'fixa', if you have other questions post a comment & I'll be happy to help. Thank you kindly.
