I want to upgrade my memory too. Does it take high density memory, or do I have to get the older low density memory? I can't figure it out from their website.

There should be a small trap door in the bottom with 1 or 2 screws that has the memory.
as you will have to have the correct style memory then take it to the computer store where you purchase the memory and they should install it for free.

Memory upgrade 2gb 4gb

The CF29 comes in two basic flavors:
#1: With 256MB RAM and DDR Ram with One open slot.
So add a 1GB DDR RAM (PC-2700) DDR 333 and
the maximum RAM is now 1.2GB

#2: With 512MB RAM and DDR2 Ram with One open slot.
So add a 1GB DDR2 RAM (PC2-5300) and the
maximum RAM is now 1.5GB.

This is my experience and very frustrating to find out the
hard way that the CF29 does not support a 2GB DDR2
RAM Module.

Good Luck.

Getting the message of internal problem - violation of memory

Take down the entire error message word for word and then google it. If its a memory issue you
might have to replace the ram.

RAm is pretty cheap. It's bought in sticks. About 25 dollars a stick. Open up the case and find out what kind of motherboard you
have and go online to buy ram for it. Then follow the instructions for installing it.

Is it possible to up grade a asus eee fizz book

Yes it is possible to upgrade the ram and the harddrive, there will be little blanking plates on the back of the laptop, they are held in by small screws, undo the screws and you will have access to the memory and the harddrive. If you are unsure take it to a pc store and ask if they could find out what type of memory and harddrive is needed to upgrade. hope this helps.

Tried to install a second 1GB RAM memory but the system doesn't start.

Some facts about memory. Newer machines seem to favor matched ram. This means you want to buy memory from the same manufacturer with the same specifications. It used to be in the old days that ram was pretty much ram. It didnt seem to be all that picky about being matched and maybe that was because most of the ram timings were standardized? There were exceptions of course but today there are many more options in speed/timings available from ram manufacturers.

Some things you might like to try. Make sure the ram is for your pc and remove the old ram entirely and put in the new RAM. Does the pc work? If it does and If you have the manual for the computer or motherboard, see if there is a certain slot for slower ram. Or trying moving the new ram to other slots.
If the new ram does not work by itself when you remove the old RAM entirely then the memory you got could be bad for whatever reason. Remember this stuff is pretty sensitive to static and other stray electrical currents.
What I do for customers that want more ram is I replace ALL of the ram with a matched set of memory they want. This minimizes returns and sometimes odd behaviors that are hard to track down.

Adding DDR RAM

While you likely can use the RAM, be careful. Some printers use proprietary memory with designs which could mess up your notebook. Contact the printer manufacturer and ask if their memory is standard or proprietary.
The cost of RAM today doesn't merit you risking the entire notebook for memory that can mess the computer badly.

Replacing RAM chip in a acer aspire 3000

I found the user manual at Page 63 of the acer user manual listed these steps for changing the memory: "1 Turn off the computer, unplug the AC adaptor (if connected) and remove the battery pack. Then turn the computer over to access its base. 2 Remove the screws from the memory cover; then lift up and remove the memory cover. 3 (a) Insert the memory module diagonally into the slot, then (b) gently press it down until it clicks into place. 4 Replace the memory cover and secure it with the screw. 5 Reinstall the battery pack, and reconnect the AC adaptor. 6 Turn on the computer. The computer automatically detects and reconfigures the total memory"
