Question about Sony PlayStation 2 (PS2) Console
My PS2 does not want to play dvd movies
If you have cleaned it with no results then the is a problem with the laser that reads the disks. These lasers have two adjustments on the bottom of them, one for CDs (PS1 games) and one for DVD (PS2 games). It is sometimes possible to adjust the DVD side and get it to work (there are many tutorials on the web on how to do this), but unfortunatly this is a temporary fix. The only real fix is to buy another laser. They are very abundant on the web (ebay is a great source for them too!). They are very reasonably priced now. Either way the unit will have to be disassembled. Hope this helps you out...
As for the 4 digit code, press "SELECT" when it asks you for your code. Then you enter "7444". It will then ask you to enter your new 4 digit access code. I recommend just making "0000". That way you just have to press "X" a bunch of times to get your movie to work..

Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
Here's a link to this great service

I needed to get the CD with the remote control in order to play songs and movies. There is a CD you buy that you can download onto your PS2 slim and afer you do this, you should be able to play movies, music, etc.....
